I know I am a bit late on this, but I wanted to see what the consensus was on this fight. Also, please note I am not a huge Pac fan. I like Pac and JMM about the same, both fun fighters with a good attitude. Anyway...
So, I just got around to watching the fight (shame, shame, I know.) for the first time. I always avoided it because I had already heard so much about it that I figured I had basically already seen it.
I had heard that many critics and fans believed JMM had been robbed of the decision and that JMM had beaten Pac. He was rated higher on the P4P list than Pac for a while there too, so apparently ring believed it too (for what its worth).
After watching the fight I was shocked. To me that wasn't even close. Pac clearly won a close fight. JMM did well, got shots in and looked technically sound, but Pac got the knockdown, got good shots in and looked technically sound.
In a fight where you are trading off rounds the person with the knockdown is going to win. If they had given JMM the decision that would have been a robbery, not the other way around.
Anyway, that's just my take, interested in hearing yours.
Holy cow. Is anyone else getting a ton of repeats in this thread? This database error thing is making it impossible to follow along with a thread.
Regardless,
I see a lot of people giving rounds to JMM that I would never have given to him. I think a lot of the disagreements in reference to this fight come from how a person scores a round.
To me I like the fighter that presses the action, I'll probably score that fighter more favorably. Others may like a technical boxer more, others may just like a fighter or a nationality.
The fight looked close, but I was pretty much scoring right alongside Lederman the whole fight, and to me, while it was close, the knockdown made the difference.
I could have seen it as a draw, but I couldn't for the life of me give it to JMM. Not with the knockdown.
lol this website is fukked up duplicate posts :D
I think everything smoothed out now. NSB is back on track but posters might want to go back and delete duplicates so the thread reads okay. I went back and got rid of a couple.

** Pac tried to steal it in the end, but till then he hadn't landed anything else, Marquez round.

This thread is jacked. NSB was glitching and as a result everyone duplicate posted.

No disrespect to anyone who scored JMM the winner, cause there are a lot of smart fans who did and there's nothing wrong with that. However there are also a lot of posters who think JMM won because it's currently very popular to say Jmm won. It's definitely the current "I know more about boxing than you" thing to say and unfortunately, for a lot of band wagoners, the boxing snob edge is more motivation than what occurred in the actual fight.

is there a way to ignore threads with the words "JMM", "PAC", and "II" together?
sorry TS, but this discussion really gets on my nerves. the fight could have gone either way imo and i'm tired of reading "so-and-so CLEARLY won the fight. people who think otherwise are idiots" when it was a really close decision.

make up your mind:dunno:

you will find JMM supporters can't score the fight or explain why. i bet 99% of this thread that say JMM won cannot clearly point out how they scored it or give a better answer than his dick was in their ass while watching the fight. :baby:
This thread is messed up for me for some reason.. It says Mangler is the last post but it doesn't show a Mangler post?
