....Manny's more dominant wins over Hatton & Delahoya.
Coming out of retirment and beating Manny's biggest FOE/ADVERSARY in Marquez, trumps moving up in weight and beating Floyd's faded/weight drained left overs.
i think it would trump anything that pac has done in his career...sorry...but floyd is not much bigger than these guys...i think he could still get down to 140 if he tried hard enough...if he destroys marquez...manny and freddie will not be happy at all...neither will cotto...
If he could get down to JWW then why does he fight a LW champ at WW?????
Floyd is a full-blooded welter. JMM has been at 135 for a year.

Ring rust is always taken into account. Meaning, Floyd has alot more to overcome here then just a very skilled fighter in JMM.
Floyd has Jr.Welterweight punching power.
And again, skills pay the bills. JMM didn't get knocked out thus far because he is a great technician. Pacquaio is a bigger puncher than Floyd P4P and Floyd at 147 is much less powerful than at 135/140. Lets not act like Floyd is Miguel Cotto - a guy who struggled to make 140 and thus moved up to 147.
Floyd moved up for the big fights (e.g. Fighting Judah for the Undisputed title before he knew he was gonna lose to Baldomir, and Delahoya).
I'm not refering to ring rust. I'm taking your statement verbatim and basing it on skills--the long layoff is just added hurdle for Mayweather, nothing else. Mayweather has power, speed, and with his natural size--he assuredly has the capability to stop JMM or a clear UD. FLoyd shouldn't lose to JMM.
EDIT: However, anything is possible. JMM might be able to defeat Floyd once you account for ring rust, but Floyd shouldn't, which is my point.
Are you pulling my leg here? Floyd being the weakest welterweight doesn't mean he's not powerful enough to KO JMM considering he'll be the bigger man by comparison to the Mexican.
There's no excuses for JMM. A dominant win by Floyd won't overshadow Pacquiao's wins; Floyds suppose to win. And ring rust doesn't factor in here if were strictly talking about skills, right?

WTF are you cryin about homey? Where's the hate in that post? Pac-DLH was a mismatch goin in. Only Pac's biggest diehards thought he'd win. Nobody coulda known DLH was gonna be so weak. And Hatton was indeed the underdog, but he was considered live. Nobody figured him gettin stretched as quick as he did, not even those who picked Pac. Facts are facts.
I was gonna go on a rant on this thread but you're already doin alotta owning so nevermind. Lol.
Weight has nothing to do with it. Floyd is a the WEAKEST welterweight around.
If he beats JMM, it will be his skills. And lets not ignore the possibility that floyd may be slower than he was 2 years ago, since he has aged and been out of the ring for a 18 months.
Nah, lets just pile up the excuses for JMM like he is facing Wladimir Klitschko.

lol, pacquiao fought him a year earlier, and what the **** where de la hoya and hatton? were they in their prime?
DLH was past prime i agree, but he's a middleweight cherrypicking a lightweight
Hatton was the lineal jr. welter
JMM prime was during MAB & 2nd Pac fight
2 fights later he's already past it

Well stated. Floyd was favored to beat Oscar and Ricky. Manny was supposed to lose to Oscar and Hatton was very live as the underdog. Forcing JMM to go up ten pounds more than anything he's ever fought at is not better than beating him at his optimum weight when he was a year younger. Manny wins this one.
you are such a hater. in the hatton fight, pac was the favorite, he was supposed to win. pac was supposed to get killed by this delahoya:

No it don't. Mr boat buyer is supposed to KO JMM. Pac was supposed to get killed by DLH, and Hatton was expected to be competitive, and was favored by a few people.

Floyd is fighting already slipping-past-prime JMM

wow, the truth has been spoken:notworthy
Actually, no, it doesn't. Marquez going up to welterweight is exactly like Pacquiao when he faced Oscar. But here's the kicker--in all likelihood Marquez will be slower and will have less power when he faces Mayweather, who will be closer to his natural weight than Oscar at 147. Incidentally, if Marquez puts up a better fight than most people expect, his performance will be better than Pacquiao's victory over Oscar.

Mangler....what you just stated...is the dam truth....even though there will be people who will say otherwise. No one gave Manny a chance against DLH...and its not Manny's fault DLH wanted to weigh 142 2 weeks before the fight to see if that would increase his speed....and Hatton was suppose to be this "beast" who was still in his prime and was the "bigger/ stronger" fighter....the 2nd round KO (my favorite Cannibus track by the way) proved that theory wrong.....:boxing:
