He doesn't need to. Povetkin can't punch so he has to rely on volume.
Arreola has good power in both hands.
I'd favor Arreola over Povetkin in a fight right now.
True, I suppose his added power would mean he could get by with less volume but fatigue negatively effects power and again I believe he would fade over the course of 12 rounds meaning lower work rate and less power.
Yeah Arreola actually is better your right, he actually thinks while in the ring unlike Peter whos most complex thought is "fire=hot" during a fight.
Peter might have a better chin and he might be a bit stronger in the clinches, but Chris had over 300 amateur fights which he'd show us evidence of, if he'd just lose 30 pounds or so of whale blubber.
You'd think the two fights with Toney would've improved Peter immensely, but it just hasn't.
:lol1:
i wonder if arreloa can make it to 10 rounds....he never made it past the 8th i think and that was back when he was about 220.
Yeah, my first feeling is Chambers by pretty decent UD, but I don't think a Ali/Foreman or Wlad/Puritty type stoppage late in the fight is out of the question. Chris looks like he has heart, wonder what he'll do when he can't lift his gloves?
Not a rant, its the truth.
You mean to tell me post klitschko versions of peter and brock are the same as before?
Arreola is a way more dynamic offensive fighter than Chambers.
Chambers got outworked by a prospect in Povetkin. Arreola will either k.o him or outwork him too.
I seriously doubt Arreola could match Povetkin's workrate over a 12 round fight. Chambers IMO was the superior fighter for the first few rounds but Povetkin did an excellent job of pressing him throughout the remaining part of the fight which ultimately made the difference as Chambers couldn't keep up.
Chambers has lost some weight and as a result I have to believe this has positively affected his workrate while Arreola seems to be heading in the opposite direction but well see how seriously he's taking his weight against Vitali.
Chambers has improved since that fight (in which I remember him handing Povetkin his a$$ for the first half of the fight or so,) he's dropped a lot of weight and is able to fight 12 full rounds now. But I think Arreola is a better fighter than Peter, you just have to look past the flopping titties to see it.

A top 5 HW that needs a tuneup and a new trainer just to fight for the title.
Sounds more like a work in progress.
Neither Arreola or Chambers have a great resume. So what?
One guy lost to a sick Povetkin, the other guy is undefeated and more dynamic.
I'm done with this.
Fighters change trainers all the time. They always are a work in progress.
Yes neither has a gret resume but Chambers has a better one since Arreola's amounts to 0.
We will see how dynamic he is in september.
Chambers has improved alot since the Povetkin fight. Arreola is more of a Sam Peter class fighter.

Maybe it is.
You mean to tell me it's up for discussion who has the better resume?
Arreola is way more dinamic. We will see how dinamic he is when he fights his first real fight with Vitali.
And nope,Povetkin is still a top 5 HW last time I checked.
Not a rant, its the truth.

Peter was shot, Brock was shot, Dimitrenko was just ass.
Povetkin had like 14 fights when he fought Chambers. He was a prospect and he still is.
Just cuz' he's in the top ten doesn't mean he's not a prospect. Its just a reflection of a crap division.
Yeah the old ''everybody was shot'' rant.I'm so tired of it.
That just kmakes Arreola's resume 0.Chambers's resume is clearly better and regardess Povetkin is a top contender in the division regardless how shitty it is.Says a lot how protected Arreola has been since he hasn't fought no one.
I think Chambers would UD him, but can't see Arreola going 12 rounds right now. Chambers is quicker, better d, better counter puncher, better overall boxing skill. But Arreola has power in both hands and can throw some pretty good combinations.
That said, I think Chris has a better chance against Wlad than Eddie. While Chambers' power is underrated, he's not a very good finisher, he should've had Dimitrenko out of there. And I think Eddie has a better chance against Vitali at this stage. Vit doesn't have the jab or the power of his little brother. He's more aggressive, but that could work against him against Chambers. And keeping his hands low all the time would allow Eddie to catch him before he's able to pull back.
Chambers has 2 MDs, one SD and one loss to the 4 best names.
Would Arreola have finished any of them them inside the distance?
Povetkin beats him clearly.
Brock,Peter and Dimitrenko are pick'ems.
I think Chambers would win by a comfortable decision. I think his speed would give him fits and Arreola just doesn't have enough speed to be effective in return. Plus based on his weigh issue I have to question how his workrate would be over 12 rounds.
Chambers resume isn't much better.
Plus he lost to another prospect already in Povetkin.
It clearly better with Povetkin,Peter,Dimitrenko,Brock, etc. To me it's quite better.
And Povetkin ain't no prospect,he's a contender.Top 5 IMO.
McCline was his toughest so called test and McCline was clearly out of shape retired and looked terrible, he didnt want to continue in the fight. Thats not to say Arreola isnt a good fighter just he hasnt been tested really like so many other young fighters.
Arreola has world-class power. Only one fighter has survived the distance with him.
Arreola hits hard, but he doesn't hit harder than Wlad because he will sometimes throw telegraph punches. Knocking out McCline and Walker mean nothing because they both suck.
