... On how Pacquiao could beat Cotto, they are hoping and praying he is shot and are basing Pacquiao beating Cotto on how Pacquiao looked in the Pacquiao - Hatton fight and how Cotto looked in the Cotto-Clottey fight, let me start by saying, Hatton nor Clottey has the style of Cotto or Pacquiao, respectively, Pacquiao's defense is not as great as Clottey nor does Cotto fight anything at all like Hatton, he doesn't bounce around throwing one punch at a time like Hatton does, Cotto is a combination puncher, and his handspeed is underrated, Pacquiao will use a gameplan similar to the one he used with De La Hoya, using the lateral movements, and coming in and out, let me remind you of how well Cotto cuts off the ring and how he times he's opponents with his jab, right hand and left hook combination, or other combinations he uses, Cotto has shown he can work with speed as evidenced in the Judah and Mosley fights, now Roach says that he is going to find trends in Cotto style the same as he did with Hatton, the only trend that Cotto has is that when he has his opponents hurts he lowers his hands grasps for air and then hits his opponents with anything, I doubt that when he hurts Pacquiao, Pacquiao will want to try to land something, Cotto fights each fight differently and his combinations are not repetitive hence he doesn't have any trends. Now keep praying Cotto is shot but I mean shot to hell because that's the only way Pacquiao will do something.
he was drained dlh was not his self the night he looked tire from the opening belt
lol! WTF is opening belt?!?
And did you even saw the fight? Oscar threw more punches than Pacman in the first 3 rounds, you and I know nobody outthrows Pacman in the early rounds. Get your sh*t straight before posting garbage here...
1st he didnt come to pressure him. Now its he didnt pressure him non stop. If Pacquiao wasnt pressuring dlh then why didnt dlh being the bigger guy just charge right in and smother pacquiao?? I guess dlh wasnt trying to pressure pacquiao either then right?

All i see is an advance excuse... lol
A lot of people think Pac won't be able to handle any of Cotto's punches, and that is the big uncertainty in this fight. You can't just assume he can't take those punches, we don't know.
Pacquiao has the speed advantage, he is a southpaw, his power has translated even as he has gone higher in weight, and Pac has been in with better boxers than Cotto and won. There's plenty of clues that point to a Pac victory.
I laugh at posters here on Boxingscene. You make me laugh. I like both fighters.. Its a shame that I have to see them fight, but I watched Cotto's whole career as of today.
Mosley and Judah are fast bro... You're in denial if you think otherwise.. They have speed and power, and Cotto took some great shots from both. Talk about Cotto's defense, but you must talk about Manny's aswell. Both have flaws, and its going to be a great fight to watch. Cotto is not JMM, but Cotto can fight and will give Manny hell, just like Manny will give Cotto hell. This fight is a toss up, but if I see Cotto landing the jab early..Its going to be a long night for Manny. I'm interested in seeing how Manny will take a flush hit from a real 147 pounder. CANT WAIT!
I'm going with Cotto on this.. Can't go wrong with the 275+.
Since this is all just for sh*ts and giggles, I'll try to put in my 2 cents too.
There 's one thing that I will agree with you, this is a pick 'em fight. Since you took Cotto's side, I'll take Manny's.
If I were Manny's trainer, I tell him to pick his spots, use his speed and unpredictable moves to frustrate Cotto early. Don't try to trade, and stay away from the ropes as much as possible. Since he has the faster hands, make sure all his hits won't get lost in the shuffle by staying too long in the pocket and give Cotto the chance to hit back, therby nullifying his volume of work if Cotto tags him with his heavy bombs. As the fight wears on, and I'm pretty sure these 2 boxers knows very well where they stand after each and every round, and if all that I've said went according to plan, at some point late in the fight, Cotto will get desperate and will try to catch up fast by trying to score a KD or even a KO. He will make mistakes and Manny is one of the best finisher in the business. One slip-up and next thing you know, you already got KTFO, although all these things that I said is so much easier said than done, that's why they always fight the fights...
What I meant to say is that Manny didn't throw punches non-stop, I accidentally wrote pressure.
Dynamics of boxing dictate that higher punch output comes at the expense of defense...which Pacquiao could not afford to sacrifice against the bigger guy. Therefore choosing his battles. That is not to say he wasnt pressuring dlh. If he wasnt then dlh would have charged right in and smothered Pacquiao's workrate like hatton did to malignaggi.
how about the 1 sided fight against grampa mosley, boxing god jennings, another 1 sided fight against the legend killer clottey, the king of kings malignaggi.

First when did I ask for a Pac Fan to discredit Pacquiao, the more they hype him the bigger the victory when Cotto wins, and Cotto quit when he had nothing left, as an athlete and a boxer he did the right decision, why don't you get into the ring and take punches for 11 rounds and see if you're standing up at the end, lack luster fights? A boring Cotto fight is non existent. Gift Decisions? They were close fights only the Cotto haters had it for Clottey and Mosley. And titles don't mean much these days plus he has defended them against a hell of a lot better opposition, making him a champion.

They were professional veteran fighters not a collection of inanimate objects. Diaz was a belt holder, so called "shot" Hatton was the lineal champ and DLH was coming off a Forbes sweep. They ALL BARELY landed. I'm not even talking about being competitive. Just show me a meaningful punch any of them land. Do you know what it takes to go through 3 fights unscathed against bigger heavier respected opposition? How the hell are you gonna hate on his defense?Yo mooks, wasup man? summer na ba dyan sa canada, me mga nakabikini na ba sa mga bakuran nila? "D
David Diaz, Grampa De La Hoya, and Shot Hatton, none of them were meant to give him a meaningful punch, and if you have read my post I am the one saying that Cotto isn't shot, it's the pactards that want to discredit their own man's win (if by some miracle he wins) by saying Cotto is shot.Yeah right, pac[beat them paralytics on their wheelchairs. geez, Your cotto nut smell oozes out of the monitor and you have the temerity to call people pactards.

If you want a Pac Fan to discredit him...why dont you discredit Cotto for fukkin quitting and quit giving excuses for his lack luster fights and gift decisions hes had and not earning his titles...All of his titles have been for VACANT titles

Do you realize that manny has fought at 130 for years and within three fights TWO last year 2008 and ONE this year 2009... to only have three fights and level them three out...meaning stretched out. and have a boxing icon Quit is in no way a reason to discredit him....
