I thought Kotelnik won the fight. It was close but Kotelnik clearly won. He started late though in that fight. I liked Maidana's harder punching and thought Kotelnik started too late. Top 5 candidate for FOTY with Cintron-Angulo, Fragomeni-Wlodacryz, Mundine-Geale, Violiria-Solis,and JMM-Diaz.

I hope they get him a much better opponent after this guy, who ever thinks that Victor will not win this by KO doesn't know about 'being handled correctly'. Nothing wrong about being handled correctly at this point because he is young but let's hope he doesn't get easy guys all the time but also let's not pull a Vargas on the guy and feed him to the wolves so fast. I would say, stay in the middle/half elite fighters for now. Like Bradley, Campbell, Holt, Torres, Alvarado, Khan, Malignaggi. Feeding him to the wolves would be Mayweather, Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Marquez, Hatton. i think he can beat hatton at this point....... hattons confidence is shot

Maidana IMO should be the WBA champ right now because he beat Kotelnik it a great fight. If Ortiz KO's him that would be scary. it either ko or one sided decision..... imo, ortiz is the 2nd best fighter at 140 right now....... but he just has to prove it thats all.......

Maidana is a good test. I don't feel Maidana is terribly skilled but he's got plenty of pop and only lost to a champ. It's the perfect fight for Ortiz at this point in his career.
