Those stats were accurate. Clottey landed a lot more in round 10 and 11 and he was chasing his man forcing him to retreat....basically he was the ring general, the effective aggressor, the more accurate puncher who landed more, and was the one doing the damage in the 10th and 11th. Unless your going to score a round based on two big left hooks from Cotto at the bell. while negating Clotteys work, I don't see how Cotto won the 10th and 11th.
Well said man, Green K
Both deserve rematches. The difference is that Cotto has several potential big money fights (Pac, Floyd, Mosley), while Berto doesn't have much unless his people are willing to gamble that he is ready. I think Berto-Collazo II will happen the same way that Tarver-Johnson did. There was nothing better available for the winner.
These fights were very similar, I think its better question to say which fight was closer. I find it funny how some people can say Cotto won clearly by winning the late rounds against Clottey, but also claim Collazo beat Berto when he gave away the same rounds.
It's really is funny how that works, for me it was floyd and DLH,then a couple months later Cory did the same Sh*t to Taylor but he lost,I'm just saying it's so double standard sometimes!!I get the feeling if fights went 15 rounds like before,we wouldnt have these problems!!
I'd watch it, but I think Clottey would be far too strong for him.
Clottey beats Berto handily as well IMO.
I agree, but Collazo's a tough bastard.. I'd put my money on a classic tear up...
I'm going to say Clottey. While the Berto-Collazo fight was close I thought Berto clearly won. I scored the fight the other night for Cotto by a point but I would have had it a draw without the flash KD and I wouldn't really have whinged too much if Clottey had been given the win.
Berto did not clearly by faaar. Even Bertos dad said he needed a Knockout to win.
Jewshua Clottey.
you wish. Berto was gettin worked on the inside by Collazo. He was getting outclassed. See Collazo actually took control of the fight. Bertos dad was even saying he needs a KO to win the fight.
However Cotto had control of the Clottey fight and was disabled with one eye
I think Berto is improving day by day, and althoguh it was a close fight at the time, right now Berto would beat Collazo in a much more convincing way. Im not saying it would be easy, but he is better now than at that time.
There was no KD scored in Berto-Collazo.
:pat: My bad bro. I meant he had a 10-8 rd. I gave Collazo the rd where Berto also got penalized. Think it was the 5th.
Both do. But I'll go wit Collazo on this one by a hair. Clottey lost a close fight cuz of a KD. Collazo lost a close fight where he scored the KD. He deserves it a lil more imo.
There was no KD scored in Berto-Collazo.
If fighters were to give rematch to every fighter they defeated.. There coudn't be new fights.. I would say that Clottey and Collazo will need to find a reason why these fights should happen again, just as beat a couple or something :P
