FLOYD MAYWEATHER: "I'D BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF MANNY PACQUIAO...AND HE KNOWS THAT!"
Q: What made you decide to fight Juan Manuel Marquez?
Floyd Mayweather Jr: "He's been one of the top fighters in the world for quite some time on every pound for pound list. It's the best going up against the best and it gets no bigger than that. It's the USA Vs. Mexico."
Q: What would you say to the people who thought you never had marketability now that you've made yourself a household name commanding $15M for your comeback fight?
Floyd Mayweather Jr: "Everybody knows that I never discuss what my purses are, but this fight is going to be a tremendous success and it's going to be great for the fans. To touch on your question, I have a great team, who has great vision and L stays on the grind taking me to that next level and the mainstream world. And that's great for the sport of boxing because it brings more eyes to the sport."
Q:Why do you think people give Pacquiao so much more credit than you when all he did was move up in weight and take care of your left-overs?
PBF: "Because there's always going to be a double standard when it comes to me. People gotta understand that I set the bar so high that none of these cats can keep up, so they have to make it up as they go. They know damn well that Pacquiao is a good fight, but beating De La Hoya and Hatton? Been there did that."
Q:What was the toughest fight you've had thus far?
PBF: "I would have to say Emmanuel Burton."
Q: What are Marquez's best atttributes as a fighter? Can you break down what you see him do in the ring?
PBF: "He's a highly skilled fighter, who is a great warrior with a lot of experience. He's got great pride in his country and I know he's coming prepared. I have the utmost respect for him and what he brings to the table."
Q: How many more years will you fight for?
PBF: "It depends. My sole focus is on July 18. I have a tremendous challenge in front of me and I am preparing 100% and expecting a great fight from Marquez and I ain't looking past him. The fans can truly expect the best of Floyd Mayweather fighting all of the top fighters in the world."
Q: What did you think of Pacquiao's performance against Hatton?
PBF: "A very, very, good performance. He's a very good fighter, but he could never beat me. Ricky Hatton never listened to my dad, if he had followed my dad it would have been different, but he never listened from the word go. If we ever fought, I'd beat the shit out of Manny Pacquiao! And he knows that."
Q: Who else would you like to fight besides Pacquiao and Marquez?
PBF: "The top fighters out there know who they are and I don't have to call their names. They're gunning for me. My sole focus is on Marquez. I refuse to overlook because he's a great fighter and I've been off for 18 months and I have to be at my best to beat him."
Q: Are you looking to sign any big name fighters to Mayweather Promotions?
PBF: "We're always looking to working with the best out there. It's like everything else, you have to take your time to come up with the best result. I have a great group of young guys I'm working with now, including Jesse Vargas who will be the future of boxing."
Q: Do you ever see you and your father working things out and your father and uncle working things out?
PBF: "I have a very good relationship with my dad, we talk and hang out every day. My father and uncle have the same kind of relationship."
Q: Do you think you'll get Pacquiao before the year is out?
PBF: "Like I said, my sole focus is on Marquez and Pacquiao don't want it. His promoter could say whatever he wants about Pacquiao being the draw, but he's out of his ****ing mind. Look at the PPV numbers for my last two fights. End of discussion."
Q: What made you decide to come back?
PBF: "This is for the fans. No matter where I went; the mall, church, hanging out with friends, everybody wanted me to come back. This is all about the fans and my sole objective is to come back and finish part II of the Mayweather experience and that's dominating all of the top fighters left to dominate from my era."
Q: Other than yourself, who do you think is the best pound for pound?
PBF: Juan Manuel Marquez. I saw him beat Pacquiao twice and his last two wins were great. I'm coming back to fight him because he's the best. Once I'm done with him Pacquiao and Mosley can get in line."
Interesting read. I go on B-Talk everyday but I don't think it's a top notch boxing web site compared to others. Greg Leon is a blow hard when it comes to Floyd and other fighters and I don't even waste my time reading his mail bags.
Q:Why do you think people give Pacquiao so much more credit than you when all he did was move up in weight and take care of your left-overs?
What kind of wanker would ask a question like that in a serious interview?
Its a chat transcript... where people ask the questions... some are fans of floyd, some arent... obviously that question was asked by a fan of floyd
It is a turn off especially when you're a geniune boxing fan having to read absolute filth about the sport you love so much, and it seems the media have create a pantomine in boxing, its becoming a joke to say the least, you have idiotic boxing journalist who would either lick his behind or critise him.
Ever since Manny knocked out slick rick, there's been loads of fake boxing journalists that act like they know the sport
I am getting turned off of this fight and floyds comeback already because of shit like this.Floyd is a great fighter, but the circus he creates is making boxing resemble the wwe, which I must add is never better illustrated than when you get a bunch of cheerleaders calling themselves the mayweather mafia in a supposedley serious boxing forum.F.ucking hilarious, but sadly a turn off if you are interested in anything other than the top tier pantomime of boxing.

Mayweather is just about money. He is, if not the biggest, a very good draw.
He is not ducking nobody, but he just fight for money. Not for his legacy, not for his fans...
I don't care about it. I just want to see the best against the best. And Mayweather is one of the best!

Welcome to the internet.
I ain't buyin this hitlist shit. JMM is already signed and I'm sure Mr boat buyer will fight Pac after. But I'll believe him fightin SSM and Cotto when I damn well see it.

What kind of wanker would ask a question like that in a serious interview?
Most of these boxing Journalist are just fanboys, If they're not fanboys of the boxers they're interviewing they would be fanboys of his rivals.
Thats why you can get silly questions like this one and the Brian Kinney one " Whose victory was more impressive against Oscar and Hatton" yours or Pacquaio?
With a dumb question like that what would you expect a boxer to say??? No my performance was less impressive??? they're all fanboys.
where's the usual suspects???
You cant find them unless its an article where Mayweather is been critised.
So who said Floyd was ducking. The only problem is Floyd will get no credit for beating Mosley, people will claim he was too old anywhere.
Cant argue that fact, The moment he signs to fight Mosley he would be ducking Cotto automatically.
Relax dude it wasn't a hit on him, just a joke. I don't doubt what he's saying im just laughing at the nature of the responses compaired to floyd in real life. Im sure he's not sitting up on his room by himself on a computer typing, he's likely got an advisor with him or something telling him how to properly and professionaly answer the questions.
You was... he wouldn't say he would fight Shane Mosley randomly if he didn't have plans too, come on now... just give the guy some credit. If it was somebody like Pacquiao you would probably be diving all over it (no pun intended).
If it was a bad interview/chat whatever you wanna call it... I am pretty certain that you would find it more believable.
Anyway, we both know its a fight we want to see so lets hope its true. Oh and by the way it wasn't a stab at you, you seem like a alright guy really. :fing02:
Do you have to be negative in every way possible regarding Floyd? Seriously...
The guy has a good interview... and claims that Mosley could have a fight, but you still find a way to discredit the interview...

Everyone will say "ill beileve it when i see it" but the reality is, floyd doesnt mention anyones name like that unless hes serious. with the exception of winky wright.
Is this real? I'm calling BS until a link is provided and I haven't even read it.
go to b o x i n g t a l k dot com and its a link for this chat session. Its the free one from last week. But
Its funny how you call BS on a something like this when dealing with May, but I would NOT be surprised if you AUTOMATICALLY believed that he signed to fight JMM at 44 then CHANGED and made him come up to 47! But as we know, that was NOT true...you boxing "fans" kills me!
Notice how Floyd's answers are so different on chat vs. live. Hmmm. lol.

Nice interview, a bit of trash talking but at least we got a feel of what could be happening in the future (should he beat JMM convincingly). Where you find this from Reed? Nice find, green karma...
