The Genius of Trainer Roach and Team Pacquiao already has a great plan to neutralize PBF's defenses. The Pacman will "Break" Floyd's body down. :boxing:
AT 1 min. 55 sec.
Freddie Roach is a great trainer. He's going to do his best to analyze Floyd's tendecies and give Pacquiao the right advice to deal with it. Take that very interview between Roach and Kenny, though. A question from an email was, 'What do you think of Marquez?' He basically said that Juan is a great technical boxer with great ring intelligence who makes deft adjustments during the fight. That's very suggestive of Mayweather, too. Roach knows that. He'll talk a big game on television, and confidence is neccessary, but he knows there isn't one answer to beating Floyd. Whatever Pacquiao brings, Floyd is going to try and adapt to.
There's no, 'Floyd does A, Pacquiao does B'.
It's 'Floyd does A, Pacquiao does B, Floyd adjusts with C'.
The question of good coaching if Pacquiao-Mayweather will be how adeptly Roach can help Pacquiao make his own adjustments to what Floyd does- that's the real key to him helping Manny to victory.
too bad its not gunna work....If only you understood how the shoulder roll works....
the shoulder roll is an excellent defensive technique... maybe even one of the greatest, but when fighting a southpaw its a bit different. You have to tweak a few things.
Mayweather stands orthodox, so usually when he's fighting another orthodox fighter when they throw a right hand (usually their strongest punch) he's able to easily have the shoulder against his chin and roll it off. Simple. Then he'll counter or do whatever.
Against a southpaw its different because now their strongest punch is coming straight from the other side, theres a clear lane now instead of a shoulder being there. May keeps the shoulder against the left side of his chin... with a southpaw their strongest punch is coming toward the right side, it'd be a bit much for him to roll even more to the right to compensate so more than likely he'd bend down at the waist to avoid the straight left..... or bring his right elbow up to parry an incoming punch.
For evidence check the Zab Judah fight (a southpaw) Floyd rarely used the shoulder roll technique until later in the rounds when he was comfortable and Judah was tiring.... at the beginning he was keeping BOTH hands high and tight until he got a feel of Judah.
Those plenty of people were not no where near the best P4P fighter in the world.
There is that, but all I am saying is you can't say it is a masterful plan, because plenty of people have tried it... I am not saying it definitely wont work... but you can;t go call it a genius plan because of so many people trying it.
Hahahahahaha...

I don't mean that because of a Floyd win. I mean if Manny won it would be the same way. Remember after Manny-Ricky the board didn't work for 2 days it froze up so much,. THis fight is so big it's going for a record BS shutdown.
there is no game plan really to beat floyd is just a matter of what u do in the ring that night when u face him an try to beat him like the onky lucky one who really beat him and got robbed that was Jose luis castillo and that doesnt necesarily means that a game plan to beat him
Is anyone going to listen to you? You were talking about how hatton would land the same punches Marquez did on Pacquiao. You're clearly a pacquiao hater. And a disgusting one at that.
LOL shut up..
Just the fact Roach sayin he has a plan n will go for the body of PBF if against the ropes is a bit suspect..i reckon its just a deception...but then again its early days..
I agree with everything you said, except the last statement. Pac's head movement has improved dramatically in the past few years.
Not when hes throwing combinations, before he comes in, he leaves his chin out, after he throws, he overcommits on the last punch and he leaves his chin there. These are the two key mistakes he makes, if your going to go to the body on mayweather, you have to be a target, being a target on a guy like that is probably the last thing id wanna be. Pacs head movement isnt there before he lunges in to throw, and after he finishes.
honestly. if pac goes inside floyd mayweather, his chin and his OWN body would be tested, and to be frank with you, a fight like that wont go 10. Mayweather can take a punch and can definately go to war in a fight like that, im not saying pac cant, but pac going in and out is a better plan because its what he does best, to make him go to the body, you are forcing him to stand in front of the most accurate puncher in the game, with pac not exactly being the type to move his head.

Yea, good luck with that. Mayweather adapts himself to whoever he's fighting. Ain't no way they can plan effectively against something like that.

Hi, daddy. Why have you been friendly to me all of a sudden? All those years that you were gone are now getting to you, right?
While I do agree that Pac should go to the body against Mr boat buyer, he WON'T have as much success as JLC did. Pac is not an inside fighter, he is a mid-range fighter to get full extension on his left cross. JLC is an EXCELLENT inside fighter, among the best of our era, if not the best.
You been makin some insightful posts Jr. I'm glad to see you know your boxing. :fing02:
Pac should forget outboxin or stoppin Mr boat buyer. He'd have to outwork him Jr. Get in his chest and sustain a flow of short combinations, especially to the body. Mr boat buyer's guys are always tryin to find the chin, and it's even easier for him to counter upstairs when they're reachin like that.
Roach is smart and he sees things as a trainer that some miss. That said I don't get the same confidence from him talking about Mayweather as I got from Pac's other recent fights. If Pac can pull it off it will be impressive because Mayweather has the style to give Pac issues. We will really get a chance to see how far Pac has come.

Genius. Break his body cause a Prime Castillo was able to in two fights against Mr boat buyer, just genius. Pac has exactly the same strength and size as a prime Castillo, sheeer GENIUS.
Hi Jr. Pac needs to attack the body against Mr boat buyer, but Roach shouldn't expect him to have the same effect that JLC did.
Freddie seems confident. And I would love to see if Manny can execute the plan perfectly.
On the other hand --
It's likely a psychological ploy by Freddie.
