Great video prediction.
I don't know why, but I love to see loud mouths take a beating. I've never had anything against Haye before until he's tried to humiliate Wlad.
Its good business for the sport, but its classless. Wlad will punish him, I'm sure.
I agree a hundred percent. Haye is a UK hypejob. The HW equivalent of Naseem Hamed. Sure there's some talent and power there but when the HW equivalent of Marco Antonio Barrera (that would be Wlad) gets in with him, it's a different story waiting to happen.
if haye beats vlad will your opinion of him change?
just a question, how did haye get this superman speed? he didnt look very fast vs barrett.
and as for his boxing ability - well, he looked rather sloppy vs monte. and definitely looked dazed atleast once(the ropes kept him up i think.)
and as far as wladimir never facing a guy as nimble as haye, who has haye faced that is even close to klitschko's caliber? ineither speed, accuracy, or ring intelligence?
i dont mind some people rooting for haye(cool with me), but damn, it seems that most every brit is rooting for him. can people not favor a dude just cause he was born in the same country??? like that makes any difference at all besides in the minds of some haye supporters.

Very good analysis and an accurate prediction. :fing02:
Only mistake is overstating the size difference.
Haye is listed in different places as having a 78" or 79" reach, while Wlad's is 81". So Wlad has only a slight reach (wingspan) advantage over Haye, and in fact I think Haye has longer arms than Wlad, as both Rahman and Thompson did.
There is only about 3" height difference (Wlad says he is slightly under 6'6" and Haye is listed as 6'3", taller than Brewster and Peter), but that is much less than Haye's height difference over Fragomeni (6'3" to 5'9"). Haye has very long arms, as was abundantly clear in his fights with Mormeck and Fragomeni.
Haye has almost always fought smaller men than himself (Mock, Thompson, Fragomeni, Mormeck, etc.), all of which had been stopped before except for Fragomeni. He needed those advantages, that's why he stayed at cruiserweight despite being a natural heavyweight, but now he will be in with a bigger, stronger opponent.
And the outcome will be exactly as you predicted! :boxing:
haye is not that big - "those" numbers lie. at least it looks like that from every single thing i have seen between them both.

Thanks for the kind words. Go WLAD! :boxing:
Haye's chin suspect.
but I would tend to agree with our prediction, if Haye is going to win then he need to jump all over Wladimir and keep it going for the whole fight, in and out boxing trying to pick up the points.
:pat:Fleet footed XD some BS rubbing off?
Info was good, video would be a bit better if you had an actual background of some sort, otherwise it looks a bit ominous.
Yea, I caught that "fleet footed" comment and was just :pat:
As far as a background, I have the perfect one. Its the Samuel Adams color spectrum. :beerchug:
All it takes is a fraction of an inch in boxing. The difference between a dodged punch, and a devastating Knockout.
One fighter or the other has a reach advantage in every fight that has ever happened, but it's rarely mentioned as the decisive factor in the result unless there is a major reach advantage.
Tyson is one of the elite few who could use his physical shortcomings as a positive. But he also threw a lot of hooks and uppercuts. Haye doesnt have that kind of arsenal and has little experience in being the shorter fighter. He is no Tyson. I hope Im wrong though.
All the shorter fighters I mentioned had the ability to hurt elite opponents while punching upwards, not just Tyson - that was my point. I think Haye's arsenal of punches is pretty good, although I agree he has no experience against very tall fighters - except in sparring. A lot depends on the quality of his sparring, IMO.
I'm not disputing that Wlad is deservedly the betting favourite but I think Haye has a much better chance than GranTorino's analysis implies.
Do you really class 81" vs. 78" as much better? It seems pretty close to me ...

Wlad has a much better reach

Haye will be punching up, and Wlad will be punching downward. Wlad has basic physics on his side among other things.
I'm not really convinced about the physics. Frazier was punching up against Ali; Leonard (in their first fight) and Hagler were punching up against Hearns; Tyson was punching up against almost everyone he fought; Dempsey was punching up against Willard ...
You stress the height difference, but you don't mention that the reach difference is only 3" - Haye has exceptional reach for his height, and I think reach is at least as important as height is, in terms of whether Haye will be able to get to him.
.
Wlad has a much better reach and the extra height advantage means a lot. Haye will be punching up, and Wlad will be punching downward. Wlad has basic physics on his side among other things.
I see this fight going the exact same way as you described, but that will not prevent me from rooting for Haye.
Haye has balls, heart, and decent power, but Ive seen nothing in his 23 fight resume' that resembles anything close to a defensse.
No chin + no defense = canvas for David Haye.
Haye's defence is his fast reactions, his excellent head movement, his footwork and lateral movement, and his counter-punching ability, because if he can counter Wlad effectively, Wlad will be a lot more wary of attacking full thottle - and if he can counter Wlad's jab effectively, he'll be able to negate it to a large extent.
To say Haye has no defence is like saying Ali had no defence. Keeping your hands up isn't the only form of defence one can have.
Of course, as always, feel free to comment and let me know what you think.

Your confidence that Wlad won't be able to miss with his jab is also seems like hubris to me. None of the people that you mentioned who couldn't avoid Wlad's jab had anything like Haye's speed, reactions, lateral movement, or counter-punching ability.

Thats me, the articulate gorilla.
