He is the antithesis of what brought boxing back to life in the past few years, the best fighting the best...and not the circus fights which happened till ironically Mayweather fought De La hoya. Since that fight we've gotten great matchups and great fights. I'm not going to touch on why Mayweather shouldn't be figthing Marquez and who he should be fighting.
Another thing is that he ruins boxing by being a ghetto trash image on ESPN. This is why ESPN stopped covering boxing in the mainstream, because it can become a circus act. Would you ever see Kobe Bryant or Tiger Woods criticizing an interviewer? He should've been grateful for the opportunity to promote his fight on ESPN, instead of using that time for a sport like baseball or basketball, which the average sports fan is looking for.
I don't understand what there is to like about Floyd anymore. Is it that he openly admits he's stealing the fans' (meaning YOU) money?
Tyson was entertaining tho' with all his antics...u may not like it, but majority of people that likes to be entertained did.....and yes I agree floyd should have fought the necessary fighters at the time...but his chase of the green (money & wbc) wouldn't be denied...he always went for the green belt tho' n I believe that if margarito, cotto, or mosely had the wbc belt at the time...then floyd would've fought them..
Tyson was convicted of rape and went to jail. He was often very misogynistic, rude and aggressive in interviews. Tyson was feared, and people liked to watch him knock guys out, but he was also like a train wreck. It's not like he was some funny, happy go-lucky wise-cracking athlete with a mean streak. I don't know that his antics were 'entertaining' so much as people love a good gossip story- and he always gave us something to talk about.
Floyd makes people talk. If people are paying to watch him fight, he's doing something right. I don't know why anyone would think he's ruining the sport when he makes people watch and talk about something that is often a niche activity nowadays.
the only way mayweather could truely ruin the sport is if he were to commit a crime that would shine negative attention to the sport. Having a bad fight, or having a contraversial opponent or whatever doesnt ruin anything. The sport carries on, if you think hes ruining the sport, you yourself give mayweather the respect of actually being the face of it. I mean you have to look past that. Take for instance, wladimir klitscsko that guy to me is boring as hell, he has alot of fans on this board, however i rarely talk about him because if i dont like someone, i dont spend my damn time talking about them when there are more worthwhile topics to discuss.
Again, if you think hes somehow ruining the sport, you give him the respect of him being the face of it, no one man is bigger than the sport, but if you give him this kind of credit, you obviously think he is. Leave the topic of floyd mayweather alone and at somepoint you will realize your overzealous ranting accomplishes nothing and solves nothing and in the end, mayweather will still be a polarizing and popular figure in the sport, if he wasnt, 80 percent of the board wouldnt be filled with his threads, with you adding to that heap.
And then turning the channel off once they see how much of a circus act he is. Bait and switch.
Wouldn't you agree that he would do a lot better for the sport if he actually fought the best fighters? He didn't fight Margarito regardless of what SHANE MOSLEY did to him, by the way Mayweather won't fight Mosley, or Pacquiao.

was Mike Tyson ruining the sport with his image?...floyd is a saint compared to tyson's image.. if anything Floyd is bringing non-boxing fans interested and curious to see how good he really is..

That interview today was as spontaneous as a pro wrestling bit. Floyd was building up the PPV and Kenny was getting some highlight reel time. People that fall for this hype are just marks for the promotion.
 At ruining Boxing, what other Boxer out there would be the Main topic on ESPN/Sportscenter, ESPN went as far as protoming the interview all day on its channel, and milked it and broke it into parts for people could stay and wait for the interview throughout the whole sportscenter. He brings attention to the sport, whether you like it or not.
I Havent seen something like that on espn ever, the last time i saw something like this was those sarah palin interviews.

the sport was at its fckin zenith of popularity with Tyson as its posterchild, with tyson as the face of boxing......a manic depressive, homophobic, rapist....... u are calling floyd getto trash????? floyd could buy and sell your entire family........your premise is patently contradictory, and yur not too bright....
LOL I don't understand why you Floyd nuthuggers feel you have to defend him. I must have some truth!!!! And you don't even know who I am or my family so that's pretty stupid, YOU are not too bright LOLOL

You hope and pray Floyd-JMM doesn't sell any. You hope and pray Floyd loses. You hoped and prayed Floyd stayed retired. That's BITCH feelings. It irks my nerves to seem shemales on this board man.
I have no stake in what happens to Fraud.....do you???
How? MAYWEATHER HATTON = BETTER #'S THEN PACQUAIO HATTON
Is Mayweather sponsored by Nike? Does he have his own sneaker?
Question to all you nuthuggers. If Floyd Mayweather doesn't fight Shane Mosley (or the number 1 Welterweight) or Manny Pacquiao (or the #1 P4P if in his vicinity).....are you still going to pray to him???

I don't see how he was tryin to be ghetto...Floyd at times tries to be ghetto and ends up lookin stupid. He aint a street dude...
To be honest, ZAB JUDAH conducts better interviews than Floyd Mayweather.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!! Your saying Marquez is a nobody? Burn. :sombrero:
If so then Ivan Calderon must be a nobody too.
Hes a businessman now.................not a fighter..................a damn Oscar wannabe without that much of a following.....................
Agreed. He's a wannabe DeLaHoya..... though Pacquiao has the cash-cow title without having to say one word about money.
