Does Pavlik need to ditch Jack Loew??

Pavlik is a simple fighter, I don't think you can add a lot to his style at this stage. He just needs to be more aggressive. He seems to want to wait out any flurries and not counterpunch. Hopkins fought a great fight against him but Pavlik should have been able to land some significant punches in that fight as Hopkins was being aggressive and leaving himself open.

Im not saying totally fire Loew, keep him on as a second tier guy though.

Some boxers need a new trainer, some don't. Kelly Pavlik can definitely use a new trainer or someone to co-work with Jack Lowe. Trainers can help, some don't really change a fighter.

I agree, Loew is limited with what he knows/can do he doesnt have any experience.

I am pretty sure Jack Loew has forgotten more about boxing than anyone in this thread has ever learned. That helped in the Hopkins fight when Pavlik was obviously confused and was looking for advice right???

He needs Steward. Why? So Steward can teach him to double his jab and throw the right behind it? Cause that's his forte as a trainer.

Pavlik is not an Elite fighter. He will never be an elite fighter no matter what trainer he has. He will never beat an elite fighter. He is a good fighter though and can beat other good fighters. His style dictates that he will be able to handle himself just fine at 160 as there are no other Elite fighters from 160-168 Just good fighters in his range and he will do just fine with them.

I think so. A world class trainer and Pavlik would be a deadly duo.

All you need to ask yourself is whos Jack Loew? who else does he train? the guy is riding Pavliks coatails and its disgusting.

Nah. They been together a long time and they got a bond. Nothin but success sans the Bhop ownage. Can't blame Jack for that.

A very long time ago. Kelly is a good person, so it seems, and he seems to value loyalty. Which is good, but sometimes it can be a fault as well. Loyalty gave Shane a couple of losses.
