Yes, I was one of the ones that said Hatton would beat Pacquiao. I thought his style would prevent Manny from doing what he loves to do. In fact, if Hatton's chin was better, it probably would've been a tough fight for Manny. But that's beside the fact, Pacquiao is the better fighter. No doubt about it.
My point is that Ricky Hatton is wrongfully treated like he's a bum on here now just because he lost to Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
The fact is Ricky could beat 99% of the fighters out there, but because he came up short against two greats, he's nothing. Take a look at 140 pounds. Do you honestly believe Ricky is not one of the best there? Are you saying people like Victor Ortiz are better than Ricky now, just because of a loss to a great? It's dumb.
Ricky Hatton could probably beat everyone at 140 outside of Pacquiao and Marquez. That says a lot, but it says more about the high expectations that were set on Ricky after the Tszyu fight.
He was given a crown that was bigger than his head, and for that, Ricky is met with disregard and disrespect in the end. If I was a boxer I'd be proud to have a record like Ricky Hatton, and I wouldn't regret my losses either.
Hatton has been a great fighter and a great character in boxing, and he deserves his credit.
No...Hatton does not have a good chin. Why because he took Malignaggi's punches lol He would have been down in his tune up fight against Lascanzo if it wasn't for that pathetic showing of favorism by the British ref.
He showed he cannot adapt. As soon as he was hit by manny he reverted back to his instincts which is running in with his hands up not using any defense That style doesn't work too well if you cant take punches. I still think its hilarious that people and him thought he would be p4p king by beating the p4p king at his own weight. How could you justify labeling someone that, that can't even move up 7 pounds.
And im not calling him bum, but I am calling him overrated and no I wont miss him. And you know why alot of people probably criticize him is because of his lack of discipline. Gaining 40 pounds between fights because of bad drinking habits and eating habits which is why he is a shot fighter at 30. I bet he wishes he could take that all back. He is a good fighter, but not great.
Ricky has always avoided the best at 140 and was keen to fight the P4P number ones he only ever wanted the money.
yeah, sure thing.
So aside from the fact he fought top level opposition, belt holders, or ring #1 contenders, he only fought p4p #1s for money, when he could sell out 50,000+ stadiums in England fighting me? stay away from crack man, its frying your brain
Good point. I don't dispute that fact.
But to me, saying Hatton is below the rest of the guys at 140 because of this lose is insane.
nah, he shouldn't be BELOW any of the other guys at 140......he'd probably still be a betting favorite against anyone not named pacquiao, mayweather, or marquez at 140.....but against the B-C level fighters there, sure he can hang.
hatton can still make some good fights against limited fighters but his elite status is over now.
cosign. it wasn't losing to manny that did him in.....it was the way he lost.
he could beat that overrated chump King Kong tho...ask Dans
Kong can't even make 140 anymore? Where the hell have you been?
Kong doesn't need Ricky, Ricky needs Kong. True story.
i don't like jim rome, but he said it best...."hatton's good, but his BEST, isn't good enought against the BEST."
Good point. I don't dispute that fact.

I'm not sure I agree.
Hatton is a good fighter, but not great. His style is rush forward and punch. Anyone with good countering skills and some speed beats Hatton. It was proven even before his 1st loss to Mayweather in his fight with Collazo (who's not the hardest puncher).
Ricky Hatton can beat 99% of the fighters out there, but he's treated like a bum.
No he can't.....You are a little to high on Ricky.
Ricky has had the benefit of "home cooking" most of his career. Do not let the fact that Floyd, and Manny being P4P #1's fool you. That doesn't mean Ricky is good cause he lost only to them. Some seem to forget he got a gift against Collazo. He also never, and I mean NEVER fought a real tret at 140...
Don't even try and bring up Kosta...Kosta was coming off a long layoff/shoulder injury, and was a shell of himself, still a good win, but not what some make it out to be. Ricky never fought Floyd, Zab, or Cotto at 140.
Ricky is nothing more than a hype job...
Yeah, you're retarted.
anywayyy i was at the fight . what a great event cant wait till mayweather marquez . im sure it wont compare but im still excited...
no my cell phone
How about the first right hook that took him down or the fact that Manny landed 79% of his punches on Hatton
he didn't land 79%. It was 57%.

Every time I've seen Ricky fight he's always "almost lost." He always "almost gets knocked down, if not out." But at the same time I honestly thought he would be able to deal with Paq's punching power since Paq was never a one punch KO guy like that. Paq has to break you down somewhat. I knew Ricky was chinny, but that shit was just ridiculous. One square punch on the chin and he's out. He might have still been buzzed since the first round, he looked dumb in his corner after the first round, like he wasn't entirely there.
As for Mayweather ruining Hatton, lol that's bullshit. Mayweather didn't even bang on him long enough to ruin him, might have ruined his confidence, but not in any physical aspect. Hatton's just never been able to take a punch and Paq caught him right on the chin. Hatton can still fight in England if he wanted to, maybe try one more time against a Ortiz or Bradley down the line..
I'm just shocked Ricky was even the top guy at 140 for that long, lol that division must have been horrible for a while. But the fighters Paq gets to snag belts off of are insanely perfect for him. lol That shit has to be divine intervention, lol I mean the fighters that were lined up for him couldn't have been more perfect. With the exception of Barrera and Marquez, every fighter he's faced in a big fight have been at the point where they should retire, or they were ass in general. lol That shit never seizes to amaze me..
Your hatred for Pacquiao never ceases to amaze me...
you make no senseeee u said collazo is c class and berto is not yet a class ..collazo beat berto alot worse then some think he beat hatton ..u dnt know shittttt..and have zero respect ...0
Someone translate this spastic spelling spectacle above my post:mad:
