Why is Pac big enough to fight Oscar but not big enough to fight Cotto?

cotto's DIVISION @ 147 vs pac @ 147 (fought once vs ODLH) = cotto wins (told you, cotto's a beast and pac's overrated) but if, cotto @ 140 vs pac @ 140 let just say HIS DIVISION (fought once vs HATTON) = Pac's a fraud, cotto was weight-drained or cotto @ 145 (LESS 2) vs pac @ 145 (PLUS 5) = Pac's a fraud, cotto was weight-drained just my opinion

Cotto is naturally bigger than Pacquiao and he will rehydrate to between about 155-160 if the fight is at at welterweight so that can put Pacquiao at a disadvantage. This is the same reason why De La Hoya was favored to win his match against Pacquiao. Cotto would likely be favored to win if they meet but nobody can count Pacquiao out because he has shocked the boxing world many times. Cotto and Pacquiao has a big possibility of happening because both are promoted by Top Rank. I personally prefer Pacquiao against Mayweather or Marquez because both have great stories to hype up the fights.

If DLH was prime, Pac n Roach wouldn't have taken the fight. That win was a gr8 one for Pac simply cuz Pac was supposed to get killed anyway. pac won't fight cotto at 147 because that is his weight class. dlh was coming down from 154. if cotto wants to fight pac he has to come down to atleast 143.... pac officially weighed 138 lbs for a jr WW fight. that's small.

The Contract will be at a catchweight of 144. but the Welterweight Title will be on the line. Cotto needs to take care of Clottey first. I still cant believe the bullshit that clottey needs to drop his belt to be able to secure a fight with cotto :( had clottey kept the belt and cotto beat him its much easier to unify :(

pac is too small for dlh and cotto. pac wasn't supposed to win against dlh. yeah i know as it cost me like 20k or sumtin but it was a good fight, i really would like to see pac get demolished by cotto, would certainlyl put him up there with tito and future HOF

Roach saw that De La Hoya was no longer as dangerous a fighter as he once was so the rewards of the fight (De La Hoya was the cash cow of boxing) outweighed the risks

Cotto would fight Manny at any weight. The man needs a payday. He badly needs Manny if he wants that payday.

Personally I wanted Pac to go for a 7th belt at 147, but he's near retirement and anything less then an ultra-mega-superdooper fight looks improbable. Cotto's on the rebound and hasn't established his PPV, I'm afraid, although it's hard to overlook his talent. i think pac-cotto will happen. a 147 title would be nice and cotto/mosley has one. even at a catchweight those titles would still be on the line. a title in a 7th weight class would be historic.

At 147 Cotto is at his best. He comes in at 146-147 for the weigh-in, and puts on around 10-12lbs over night. Oscar on the other hand had to cut weight to make 147, therefore he wasnt at his peak physical condition like Cotto is at 147. well, cotto did beat mosley soundly, and margaritos a cheater, so that's a * That'll be up for the california legal system to decide whether Margarito's a cheater. I have no problem with Pacquiao fighting either or Mosley at welterweight. Just saying given the circumstances you would need a Mosley-Cotto 2 to determine undeniably who's the best welterweight.

I just dont understand the logic behind that. everybodys always like "oh wow he beat oscar he looked so great" and when arum says pac-cotto pinoys are like "oh no cotto's too big he has to come down" WTF man. make up ur minds. if pac wants to be the greatest, he has to fight the best. cotto is the best ww, fight the man. i got cotto by KO. Great argument, except for Cotto being the best. I think another fight with Mosley should settle this. You know Manny would fight Cotto at 147, he doesn't fear anyone. I'm afraid Roach and Arum thinks otherwise and wouldn't want to jeopardize their current cash cow. Cotto would be a tough and dangerous fight for Manny.

There is no best WW. Cotto beat Mosley, Cotto lost to Margarito, Mosley beat Margarito. Where in that equation does that make Cotto the best WW? No proof, but it really isn't a stretch to think Margarito cheated against Cotto, who beat Mosely, who beat a Margarito fair and square after getting caught attempting to cheat. With no proof against Margs, Shane is the best right now. But I wouldn't argue with anyone who rates Cotto as the top guy at 147.
