I am one who believes Floyd Mayweather "should" win this fight, but considering Boxing as of late has been a "you never know" sport, what would a loss right now to Juan Manuel Marquez do to Floyd's entire persona and or career in all?

I am with you bro. It's amazing how most so called boxing fans have already disregarded Marquez. Paquaio ko'd Hatton in two rounds. It took FM 10 rounds to do this. Marquez and Paquaio have fought 24 rounds and up to this point, there is still controversy on who really won those two fights. FM does not have the punching power of Paquaio. What I can see FM do is land a puch, and run away. If FM wins would be by decision, but there is a real chance that Marquez can actually knock him out.
shit aint happening so stop dreaming
Are you having issues answering the question?
The other Mayweather fans here are giving opinions themselves of what they believe would happen.
Not that much his major accomplishments are winning the titles in multiple weight classes. His 0 is gone and can't claim GOAT. He should be fine Pacman lost 2X to JMM and he still doing good for himself.
The difference with Pacquiao is he already had a couple losses and got 1 more from the 1st Morales fight, but what made Pacquiao is what he did after. With Floyd, his accomplishments can't be taken away from him, but in reality trophies don't hold weight to who you fight in your prime (which is what people remember most at the end of the day).
i dunno if hes gunna lose this fight. but if he does or doesnt. hes eventually gunna lose one day. i mean i dont think hell retire for real for awhile. i think he loves the sport more than he lets on. hell lose one day, still be agreat fighter and fight on. i mean how many fighters actually end up undefeated. they stay to long and get beat and then keep fighting. so i mean everyone would be shocked but after its over hell just live to fight another day
Very good post
I also believe he will in fact lose one day, but I think it becomes a bigger deal when one fighter's career is based on an undefeated record. History has shown that some of the greatest fighters had losses on their records, but it was only until they reached the top that the fights mattered or were held with high regard.
If Floyd was someone who fought and didn't have the persona of being the greatest simply because of his "0", I don't think a loss would damage him as much as it would now since the "Money May" character has become a huge part of Floyd's persona. Without that "0", he's almost in a way becomes a mortal in the Boxing world, which really isn't bad at all.

I thought Pac has 1 win and 1 draw vs JMM.. Where do these loses come from?
he takes a hit for sure. he would have to redeem himself big time
would be a fairytale for Marquez though... to finally outdo and overshadow Pacquiao and get the props he has worked so hard for

Well that sets up JMM vs. Pac 3 what the fans want too see. I just dont see enough pop in JMM to finish Floyd though SERIOUSLY. Diaz rocked that chin and he aint a hard hitter.
