I don't see how you can say his abilities BESIDES Counter punching can get to pacquiao. if pbf wins he will win only by his counter punch. HE WILL NOT STAND TOE TO TOE versus the smaller guy and he will not be able to demolish him by speed or anything else. run run run pbf. then counter punch. pacquiao WILL get to pbf and knock his ass down. 60-40 PACQUIAO. he will only lose if he leaves himself open for pbfs counters.

I see many people here are still doubting his abilities by claiming Floyd Mayweather would beat him with ease. What would make one assume that this would happen when in my opinion Floyd has never faced anyone with the style that Pacquiao brings? I concur that this would be an exciting fight that either man could win, but not with ease on both sides. yes he fought Zab who is both faster and hits harder than Pac. But mentally and boxing skills go to Pac. But Zab is a decent precursor. Zab Judah is not faster than Manny Pacquiao in the sense of throwing and landing punches. Zab has quick spurts of punching, but you can time Zab very easily as Floyd and Cotto both did. Pacquiao moves around a lot and makes it difficult for someone who's waiting on his every move to make their own move. Pacquiao also throws from odd angles but still maintains his speed and power by using his legs to pivot into his punches. That's one of the secret weapons many people overlook when talking about Pacquiao's abilities in the ring. There are a lot of fast punchers in Boxing, but only a few % actually know how to utilize their speed to its fullest potential.

He's never fought anyone as great as Pacquiao, no. Style wise I guess you could say Zab, but Pacquiao fights more unpredictably and off rhythm. Also he won't gas or lose concentration Very good post. Pacquiao is not a textbook boxer he is unpredictable very fast, strong and explosive. He is a difficult matchup for anybody because everytime you fight him is a surprise you cannot set a specific style to counter his. And remember a lefty judah clipped mayweather so im sure pacquiao will do as well I don't know how floyd can take it though.

I would agree Manny has never faced anyone with the defense Floyd possess. But will that be enough to win a fight against Pacquiao? It's a very interesting scenario between the two. Now that we have seen Floyd's last 2 opponents thrashed by Manny Pacquiao in much quicker and more exciting fashion and how much better Pacquiao has become overall, my argument is why anyone would think Mayweather beats someone like Pacquiao with ease?

Mayweather probably has never fought anyone like Pacquiao, just like Pacquiao has never fought anyone like Mayweather. Marquez is like an unpolished Mayweather who likes to brawl it up at times with pacman or has in the past atleast.

It goes two ways, Pacquiao hasn't faced anyone the same caliber as Mayweather, and I don't think Floyd has fought a fighter the same caliber as Pacquiao. It would be a great fight that must happen. Of course Pacquiao has a chance of beating Mayweather, but all I am saying is despite how great Manny's win was, Hattons defense was terrible... he will find Floyd A LOT harder to hit... that's all I am saying. I think in my opinion Floyd would win, but not with ease... it would be a close fight but I think Floyd's Boxing skills, defense, counter punching and ring intelligence would win him the fight, whether by decision or late TKO. Pacquiao had a great win though, can't take anything away from him.

I don't think I could compare Pacquiao to Zab in any way simply because Zab isn't as accurate or as controlled all around as Pacquiao is. Zab is a very quick puncher, but he doesn't cut corners after he throws like Pacquiao does. Pacquiao has all the basic fundamentals but takes them to a higher level and throw at odd angles. He definitely fights like no one I've ever seen in the ring. Very compelling fight between him and Floyd.
