Green released a PR today on G. Leon's website saying if the deal with Bute doesn't work out, and he can't get one of the other 168 titleholders in the ring, then he's willing to take on "the most feared man in boxing", Paul Williams.
Green said if PWill is willing to move up and take on Calzaghe (which he said post-Winky fight, I think), then there is no reason he couldn't fight some of the best at 168.

Allen Green is a nobody...what does Williams gain for beating him???
Shit.
Williams would absolutely manhandle his ass.
the same thing he gained after beating winky....nothing
I always liked Green, but inactivity can be a real problem if hes going straight to P Wall.
Should be interesting though, I would watch this.. I would be rooting for Green.
Green was nearly knocked out by his awful sparring partner in a throw away espn bout. I will never forget that, the man's chin is shaky. Paul Williams has taken plaster to the body and chin. Unless Green turns up with Winky style defense, Williams in 6.
168 would be a stupid place for Williams to hang out. Ballsy, for sure, but a very bad idea.
Green is calling him out because he knows the advantages he would have at SM. I dont blame him, but its pretty obvious. Williams needs to look for some belt holders at 154 and 160 where he will have the advantages.
Green is such an underachiever. He has true 168lb heavy hands and some good skills, but never seems to get motivated for any period of time.
He seems to be motivated again though and a motivated Green, can equal a very dangerous green for anyone he fights.
Another Knockout victory for Paul Williams, but i think he needs to stick to one division and clear it out, he definitely has the skills.
Are you serious? What makes you think Paul can KO a legitimate 168 lber that not even the heavy-handed Miranda could finish?
Williams KO1 Green.
....but seriously, Green should pick on people in his own weight class. I don't care how good Williams weight could fluctuate up and down, he was only fighting at Welter a few years ago dammit. I want Williams/Pavlik, but i don't see it happening.
Hard to argue that Green shouldn't be calling out Williams, except for the fact that Williams has offered to move up in weight for big fights. Unfortunately Green doesn't qualify as a "big fight."
And as far as I'm concerned, if they can make it at a catchweight like 164, game on. As long as they both make weight, they're the same size, right? At least that's what I always heard from Williams' fans when he was fighting at WW.

I want to see Paul Williams vs Pavlik or Abraham. OR I want to see Green vs one of those too. Simple reason, boxing will move forward. Green fights Williams, both will get low pay and no fame. The loser of this fight will be left to obscurity whereas if one of them loses to Pavlik for instance, they will have Abraham wanting to fight them because Abraham wants Kelly. Look at what happened to Taylor after 2 losses to Pavlik and a lackluster performance vs Lacy: He gets to be the main event in a battle with Froch..
Williams KO1 Green.

Does nobody else think Green can get to Williams and put the hurt on him?I haven't seen PWill dazed and he looks like he has a pretty good chin but he hasn't faced anyone with the power of the hammer of Thor.
