You are mistaken if you think Pac vs Hatton will look like the De La Hoya fight

Hatton does not give the type of space to operate as De La Hoya does. Manny won't be able to set up his shots as well or land the straight left with the full extension that he was hitting De La Hoya with. There's an interesting quote from the De La Hoya fight that I noted. Lampley says something like "Does DLH at least have a punchers chance?" and Merchant replies, "Or does he do something different, rush him, bully him, hit him to the body, hug him, and beat him up." Well if that's how Larry Merchant envisions how you should fight Manny Pacquiao, and he's right, then I like my prediction. Lot of you guys are way OFF!!

absolutely...this will be PAC's toughest test since Marquez...there's no doubt about that...Ricky's strengths do lie on the inside game...Barrera was a brutal body puncher but not at the level (size and power) of Ricky IMO, the key to beating PAC is a steady jab...its the only way to disrupt his rhythm and allow his opponent to begin their offense...when opponents are giving that 'space' that you mentioned, i think its more a product of them tryin to 'time' PAC...if Ricky, short arms and all, dedicates his jab, it will be more effective than the timed lunges that he's known for either way, should be a great war.... That's very true. Timing Pacquaio is dangerous because you're you're playing a battle of speed and reflexes, not one you're likely to win.

I will go by what Freddie Roach is saying about this fight...Pac in 3 rounds..Roach is the dope...I think it will be Pacquiao Ver 3.0 and David Diaz Ver 2.0 that will show up on Saturday...hehe

It will be a tougher fight than DLH that's for sure, but Pac is way too quick for Hatton, he won't be able to hug him to death because Pac will get out of the way. Plus, Pac seems to carry his power up in weight with him, and Hatton has never taken a good power punch since he got knocked out by Mayweather imo. But Mayweather is a very skilled inside fighter, who has proved it over time. I don't know that Manny can sustain a physical beating like what Hatton is capable of.

i think ricky's chances lie on him bullying manny on the inside. i doubt the ref's will let him though. manny looks tiny next to hatton. the ref won't let things go against manny that he would normally if ricky was fighting a bigger guy like bradley or holt. human nature. every clinch , push , shoulder , elbow ricky does would look worse against manny's small frame than against guys ricky's size. plus i think floyd sr. will mess up and try to make ricky a boxer instead of using his size advantage.

But seriously I think we're in for a war on Saturday. Not being sarcastic, has Manny ever fought a real strong inside fighter like Ricky? He's obviously beaten great fighters but I just watched DLH-Pac and noticed how much space Oscar was giving him. Even Marquez and Morales gave Pac a lot of space. I don't know if it matters, or if it is how to beat Pacman, but it is interesting.

Hatton is much faster than DLH. He is also in or near his prime. I cannot wait for this fight. Both guys get hit and come to fight. Great for fight fans.
