Did anybody have a tear in their eye for Floyd Snr ? its the first time ive seen him really humble and acting his age. He really does have a heart after all. I felt for him, because it sounded as though he really misses his son. I wonder what Floyd was thinking watching it?
Who do you think is to blame in the feud?
Dude seems like he's tried to get cool wit Mr boat buyer again, it just ain't happenin. They seemed like they patched shit up on the DLH 24/7 before, but that didn't last long. Nobody's place to really say who's to blame tho. It's a family thing.
man it is sad to see something like that when any son and father have that kind of relationship.....
My best friend and his dad are always at each others throats.....
They will be cool and then they will get to drinking and then here comes the fighting....
His parents dont have alot of money and he makes about 30 an hour... Well he will help out his parents with money for them and the kids....
Well his dad will get drunk and talk shit about how Leroy thinks he is a bad ass because he has money and that he doesnt need Leroy's help....
Leroy will get mad talk shit...
Then here come the blows....
I cant believe haow father and sons or brothers and brothers cvan get in real fights and really try to hurt each other.... That is sad...
you clearly don't have a brother
I did feel a bit sorry for him. I dont want him to train hatton if he ever faces floyd again because I got a feeling that he will make sure that hatton loses the fight.
lol for what? he grew apart from his dad, i just dont see it happening. floyds to rich and 2 big egos just wont get along.
I mean let it go from the stand point of forgiving the past. Sr. comes across remorseful and apologetic about the father he was (though unapologetic on what kind of trainer he was) while Floyd seems to hold on to getting his ass beat for no reason as a kid like it was yesterday. Those days of being scared of his dad and all. A lot of kids grow up like that and worse and turn out ok. I don't see the point in holding on to something like that, especially when he's no longer physically threatening to Jr. I think he would find it easy to let that go when he figures out that his father just didn't know how to be one. It also doesn't hurt that Sr.'s work ethic instilled into Jr. is directly responsible for him being so successful in boxing.
My dad is like Sr minus the boxing (even down to the childhood crazy ass beatings for no reason), but I just ignore him when he tries to tell me what to do (I have sound fiscal reason not to listen for one), but that's only one aspect of our relationship, I've made our relationship where we can talk about anything other than him trying to be the boss of me. Little Floyd doesn't seem to know how to filter to me. He'd rather just not deal with his dad altogether when they butt heads, that's very unhealthy.
yeah, i aint gonna lie i had a tear roll down my eye but not for him thou.
my girl & me recently split up & my 3 yrd old soon is no longer with me. yeah i get him on the wknds, but it's not the same as havin him everyday you know.
i felt for him as a father, i cant image havin a relationship like that with my own son
Sure it was touching but it was all bullshit. He was a shitty dad apperently, and Floyd shows the behavior of someone who didnt have a solid father figure in his life so I'm not surprised that he hates him. HBO is just working their magic to try and get casual fans interested.
I love that HBO uses Explosions In The Sky btw. Something about their music when played in montages. It just works.
it aint that easy, its something that grew on floyd jr. he became his own man without a father.
He needs to let it go, bottomline. Trust, it does nothing holding on to negative feelings like that. Especially when despite everything, Floyd Jr. is as big as he is because of his father's foundation in his career.
It looked like he was ready to breakdown and cry. I'm sure he's a very nice man but has to play "macho" and cocky in order to excite the fans of boxing. JAT
wow this dude still posts here?
I was kinda stupid wit em, I went through an Underdog stage.
i feel you. i've lost millions of e-points taking the underdog. i love getting odds...... :(

Floyd Sr. and Jr. not getting along is not an act. My own brother had issues like that with my dad and harbored ill will for him like that for a long time through me. The way Jr. acts about it, is exactly how my bro is. They even have the same ahole personality at times.
what happen there was floyd sr wasnt a good father for floyd growing up. So as floyd is growing he and his father seperate apart. Now they still talked yea but it was only business. Everything starts at a young age, u have a bad relationship wit ur son when hes young then when hes old u will have a bad relationship with him also. floyd says hes very scared of his father at a young age that he could not even talk to his father he was so scared.
I grew up the same way and it's something you have to get over as the child. My dad never had a dad, so he didn't know how to be one. The only thing he could do was repeat his experiences. It takes some introspection to realize this though and understand when you're not carrying yourself like an adult.. given the difficulty of being able to discern such a thing, I can't really be al fire and brimstone at my father about it. I turned out all right, all is forgiven.
In Floyd's case he turned out 100 fold well off, he really needs to relax. He's not the only kid to get his ass beat for what appears to have been for no reason growing up.

I think this happens because some parents don't behave like parents. I love mine but I'm smarter in some ways and in some ways more mature than both. I have a pretty ok relationship with my dad and my brother and I just tolerate each other. People need to grow up. In this case, what may have started out wrong with Floyd Sr. and Jr. most likely was Sr.'s fault, but now it lands squarely on the shoulders of Jr. imv. It's like a double role reversal. Sr. now in mid age, at least acts like a responsible person these days, and Jr. is your typical spoiled brat.
