obviously the two biggest up and comers in the lower weights are gamboa and juanma. who will have the better career? i say gamboa if he straightens out his defense and attitude.
gambao will be fighting caballero next.. thats if caballero win his next fight... after that gamboa should try to get a fight with the juarez/john winner.. if that doesnt fall through.. move on to bigger and better things at 130lbs
Gamboa will have the higher high, but it will be more brief, because once he starts fading it will be a quick descent.
Juanma won't peak as high as Gamboa, but should enjoy a longer more consistent career.
both will have great careers but I feel that Juanma is the more complete fighter and will probably have a better career as a result.
But Gamboa CAN be a much better fighter if he wants to be. But he continues to play with fire in every fight and eventually thats going to catch up with him. I'm still a big fan of his though.
There's no way to straighten out a shaky chin.
Juanma will be better. Gamboa will be exciting but will not reach Juanma's level.
Gamboa just blasted out the gates and looks to have a bright career but just like others have noticed he gets clocked to much and it's only a matter of time.
Juanma has been fighting like a pro his whole career (Unlike Cuban Boxers, who get trained for the Olympics) and looks to have a brighter future than Gamboa.

JuanMa by far IMO. To me his upside is on par with Gamboa but he seems a lot more disciplined in the ring. Gamboa still has a lot of amateur flaws that will eventually either need to be reigned in or he will get exposed even moreso than he has.
and saying if on fighters isn't a good idea IMO. I mean IF Judah had his head on straight, IF Juan Diaz had a bit more power, IF Chris Arreola lost more weight etc etc
fighters are who they are. While you can teach a fighter some wrinkles or some aspects in the end what brought them to the table is what they will end up relying on
Not even close, JuanMa looks to be poised to be a superstar. Gamboa believes his own hype and thinks all those bj's from the HBO crew make him a champion, he gets hit clean a lot. At least JuanMa is coming up in comp, Gamboa is taking backward steps
juanma knocks him the **** out.juanma looks like the type of fighter that would be stronger when he moves up.
gamboa's been on queer street so many times his nickname should be lombard street.
