Malignaggi fights 4/25. Anyody care?

No i'm not interested. He talked to much crap before the Hatton fight, which I don't mind but he did nothing to back it up and held like a bitch the entire fight. What gets me the most is that he put the blame on McGirt for stopping the fight even though he was warned if he didnt start punching and continued to just take punishment Buddy was throwing in the towel. The truth is Paulie was glad the fight was stopped, but he made out to save face that he was devastated and pissed at Buddy. Anyway, wish him the best for his next fight. he got hit and hurt in the 3rd, that's why he held on. The truth is he was punching hatton's head off up until that point and I say that as a Hatton fan. I just hope Hatton doesn't stand off Pac in the same way as he did in those first 2 rounds. I don't think Malignaggi wanted the fight stopped either, it looks pretty good on your CV if you went the distance with world class fighters like Cotto and Hatton. good luck to paulie, it's clear he's a good guy and a talented fighter.

I care. But only for one reason, I'm going to be there. That means instead of watching Forrest blast some no name in 2 rounds, I have to watch Paulie decision some bum for eight rounds. I'm going to be asleep by the time the Green fight is up.

I was never a huge fan of the guy but if he was on tv i would watch. I think he wont neccesarily become a "gatekeeper" of the 140 division but he is definitley not going to be a star again. The biggest fights he will get will be fights against up and comers like Victor Ortiz, Timothy Bradley, Juan Urango, etc to judge where they are, or fight veterans for a "who retires and who gets one more shot" type of fight with the likes of Judah, Junior Witter, Nate Cambell, etc. Whatever happens i wish the guy good luck...but publicly saying your only going to fight for money really doesnt help in getting fans.

He's still ranked quite high. I would like to see him make a comeback, hes a character. Id want to see him against witter and then chase bradley.

Something happened after the N'Dou fight. He started looking really bad....I think his trainers slowed him down and made him wild...look at the Ngoudjo fighgt and Herman is a bum

He isn't too interested now, he has just said he will fight anybody as long as the money is right... he said after the Hatton loss he was tempted to retire.

Of course. He will destroy this guy no problem, needs a fight that he can dominate, cause all of his fights in 2008 werent good. Ngoudjo and N'Dou made them harder and Hatton a loss.

Paulie is in the drain and picking up some major sludge in the ring, he's got a lot of downhill momentum- it's gonna take an act of GOD to get him right!

there going to have to do something pretty special to get him another decently sized fight, although i cant see it happening. malignaggi's past few performances have been very poor

i care. i like watching him fight. he's entertaining in the ring and outside the ring. i think we now know there is a certain level of fighter malignaggi can't beat. fernandez isn't on that level. he shouldn't have a problem with this guy.

Yes i care for this fight. Malignaggi should win this, Fernandez has only won 1 of his last 4, 2 defeats and one draw.And shound't cause Paulie to many problems and should bag a convincing UD or even maybe a TKO victory.Fernandez isn't really to difficult to stop he's lost 6 and 5 of those have been TKO defeats, against half decent oppostion and prospects. This should help Paulie's confindence and after he will look for big fights and them big pay checks he wants. Him and Judah would be a interesting one and would be pretty big in New York, but lets wait and see. I wonder if there could be hand touble after this one? Which could put a dent in his plans.

i wish paulie the best, hes really a great guy...and he is one of the smartest boxers out there imo....great ring technician......i hope he comes back and gives us some good fights.

I admit i am a big fan of this guy (mostly because his heart against cotto) but, since then he has taken a nose dive. I am curious to see if he can come back strong from the Hatton loss. Is Paulie still on your radar??? Who does he fight? I will watch his fight if its on HBO, but im not going out of my way to watch one of his fights. He should fight Victor Ortiz.
