David Haye Has Done Nothing To Earn His Shot at Either Of The Klitschko Brothers, He Hasn't Really Even Earned a Top Ten Heavyweight Ranking. IMO
It Took Evander Holyfield Over Two Years To Get His Shot At The Title, But He Earned It The Right Way, By Beating The Top Ranked Heavyweights. Haye's only Fights At Heavyweight Were Agianst An unknown In Tomasz Bonin And a Former Contender in Monte Barrett.
Haye And All His Fans Need To Stop Complaining About What's In the Contract And Just Be ThankFul That He Got to Jump Ahead Of Guys Who Have Rightfully Earned And Waited Years To Get Their Title Shot.

Who cares if they earned a shot? Hate on Don King but damn every self-respectin boxin fan should kno least one good King quote.
IT'S NOT WHAT YA DESERVE IT'S WHAT YOU NEGOTIATE
C'mon now. Haye best boxin salesman out there. Came up from cruiser, undisputed champ. Hyped himself up to Wlad wit cameras all around. Everyone from Germany and England see it. Money come pourin in and then after both hav fought over the hill fighters in late last year they get it on in the summer.

I think that when you consider how flat of a division HW is right now, having the undisputed CW champ move up and fight for the belt right away is fine. If it was 15 or 20 years ago i would be singing a different tune.
c'mon man... pac hasn't done anything to deserve to fight hatton at 140 but pac is getting the majority purse in the pac/hatton fight.
this thread is a fail
Easily.
He was the Undisputed Cruiserweight Champ, so he stepped up a weight to fight the best there.
Calzaghe was the Undisputed Super-Middleweight Champ, so he stepped up a weight to fight the best there (Hopkins).
Hatton was the Undisputed Light-Welterweight Champ, so he stepped up a weight to fight the best there (Mayweather).
There's endless stories like this, and noone complains about Calzaghe and Hatton gaining their shots.
Thank youuuuuuuuuu................Hatton and calzaghe did the same thing and no problem for some reason all i hear on here from some Klits is what has he done to earn a shot.
Of course he earned it. He was the real Cruiserweight champion. The real champ of any weight doesn't need to campaign at the weight he is moving up to in order to get a shot at the title. When have they ever?
Hell no. He fights once at heavy, gets dropped by a C level fighter, looks like shit, and calls out the champ. He is here because he talks a good game and because there is almost nobody else for Wlad to fight.
I'm spilt because he really hasn't earned his shot, but there really is no other top contender who deserves the shot and he was the former crusierweight champ. He hasn't really earned the shot, but it's not a terrible match up, so he can cut in line.

Calzaghe needed Hopkins though to prove some of his critics that "you need to come to da states and fight the best" mumbo jumbo and Hopkins was. Calzaghe also was considered one of the best fighters in the world. Haye is not.
Hatton-Mayweather was a match up people wanted to see for a long time. It's not like where Hatton made the jump just to go and fight the well known champ. Mayweather was at 140, but they didn't fight there, and the fight was demanded by a lot more people.
So those cases are a little different, but I get your main point.

He obviously hasn't earned it in the heavyweight arena.. By that I mean.. he has not beaten contenders etc etc.. BUT in today's world.. It's all about getting noticed.. And haye earned his shot through self promotion..That has got to be worth something.. if only that should he lose.. a possible great career in advertising awaits him..
The question should be Has Wlad Klitschko Earned His Title? and the answer is no.
Man!!! .. do you hear yourself sometimes?? :lol1:
yes of course. he is a unified cruiserweight champ. anyone who unifies any division in boxing should be given the right to step up and challenge the champ of another division without having to build himself up again.
watching champions face each other is what boxing fans want most and fans are what dictate boxing. something haye understands but wladimir doesn't.

Haye was undisputed and 'The Ring' cruiserweight champ; that's enough for a shot at the HW title, particularly as that division isn't exactly full of stellar contenders at the moment. I'm not sure where this weird idea it's necessary to start from scratch 'at heavyweight' as if that is somehow vastly different from moving between any other two divisions actually comes from, it's complete bullsh*t.
Add to that a certain gift for self promotion, and ability to earn truckloads of cash more for team Klitschko than they could get fighting any of those you consider more 'worthy', of course he's earned his shot. It's up to him to do something with it.
