For the #1 spot at the WBC, winner takes on Vitali. Call me crazy but I think Chambers has a good shot at beating Vitali, I know Chambers can beat Arreola
Yea I do too, he frustrates Arreola and wins a UD. Might even put Arreola down cuz I kno Chambers would come in fierce for revenge for what Arreola did to Witherspoon. Nobody is in Arreola's corner in the American Heavyweight scene. All the southern heavies hate him like: Travis Walker, Alonzo Butler, David Rodriguez, and Donnell Holmes. Then damn the east coast heavies hate, I mean HATE this guy. Jason Estrada, Chazz Witherspoon, Kevin Johnson, Eddie Chambers, and Malik Scott. They all callin him out and Estrada sent him a letter talkin bunch of stuff. Chambers, Johnson an a Walker rematch are the only fights I see givin Arreola trouble the rest of these guy's callin him out are just dudes blowin smoke.
I agree with everything you say except-------------KEVIN JOHNSON does not hate Chris Arreola. Both of them are good friends and said they would only fight each other if a belt was at stake.........KJ went on record saying that the press release of him calling out Arreola was not his doing, but his promoters.
Chambers is everything thats wrong with the heavyweight division.
Areolla by brutal beatdown
I doubt it i thought Chambers looked very good at times in his last fight, Arreola is currently in utterly awful shape. As long as Chambers is in the same shape he was last time out he could win a UD imo.
So Chambers gets his ass kicked by povetkin and all of a sudden that gives him a shot at beating vitali?
LOL are you serious?
chambers would beat povetkin if they fought today. he landed more punches in their first fight when he threw a third as much... if the guy gets his hands going he will beat povetkin. you see how he was handling him the first four rounds. i dunno what happened to hiim after that...
What kind of trainer you suggest for Chambers then? He did recently change trainers btw.good question. It's whoever can motivate him. Maybe no trainer in the world can do that, maybe Ronnie Shields or Dan Birmingham can. It's not the skill, its the aggression. He needs aggression, we all now that. A mile or two extra a week would help too, but if his hands can get going, the man is devastating
Chambers is being seriously written off in this thread.
I understand a lot of people think he needs to be more aggressive ; he does. He tends to go into a shell for too long at times.
But the kid has the fastest hands at HW right now, and his defensive work is phenomenal. With the proper aggressive mindset, he could really make some noise.
He was embarassing Povetkin early in that fight with counters until he decided to be lazy and go into his shell. And when he did that, Povetkin worked him over like a cheap whore.
Eddie just needs to learn to let his hands go more.
And LOL@ The people saying Eddie is fat. Granted he's soft, but he's nowhere near as fat as the "top" guys like Peter, Arreola, Valuev, etc.....
Valuev is 34 feet tall. Other people with genetics like him are mistaken for Sasquatch. Valuev has some jiggle, but at least we can determine that he is in fact a human being and not the missing link. And while Peter is too heavy, he isn't grossly jiggly. I am a huge fan of Chambers, but I realize he is fat. 215 is as high as he should go, he's not as fat as Arreola, but c'mon if your BMI is higher than mine, than it's a problem. Eddie is getting more respect than Arreola, but not more love. It's because of his style, and thats Eddie's fault. After EVERY televeised fight minus Rossy, Eddie has stated how he knows he needs to move his hands more. It's obvious that he realizes it, but he should stop telling us what he should do, and do it. Its like Shannon Briggs, he always told us that he was going to run more and how he knew he needed to be more active in the ring, yet he didn't even train a day for the Ibragimov fight and maybe ran 4 miles in 2 years on his trinket title run. They know what to say to pacify us, but they don't want to do what is needed to elevate themselves sometimes. It's themselves that they're letting down, not us.

Agreed 100%. Eddie needs to put in more roadwork, and learn to let his hands fly more often. People love to hate on him, but he really has what it takes to be something special, IF he changes some thing up.
Hard fight to decide, Arreola would have a massive size advantage, and hits very hard. Even when Eddie is shelled up Arreola would be battering him. Chambers would land a lot of clean counters throughout the fight.
Either guy could win this fight, it would really, IMO, come down to who can make improvements on their gaping holes before the fight.

I think Chambers would pick Arreola apart with his jab really and his defense would be able to block most of Arreola's shots, the problem for Chambers is his workrate, he goes into his shell too much for my liking and he could just get outworked by Arreola, anyways, Chambers UD if it happens.
Since this thread is about Arreola/Chambers, we'll keep the focus on there. Not Chambers and the Klits. Arreola is slow, out of position all the time, no head movement, and did I say slow? Chambers' flaws are, he is fat, forgets that it takes more than 3 punches a round to win fights, and he refuses to listen to his corner during a fight. All of these flaws are basically inexcuseable by either man. Cristobal throws in combinations and works the body while in close, and Eddie is a defensive master with with great speed and throws straight shots. Arreola is exactly the syle that Chambers looks great against. Think Chambers/Rossy on this one, but Arreola with more power. Eddie needs to run a few more miles and actually listen to his corner if he is going to be more than a titlist in this division. If Arreola ever comes into a fight trully in shape (and Im talking 225 to 230lbs) then his handspeed will greatly improve as will his footwork. Someone suggested that Chambers needed Mayweather Sr. in his corner. I disagree, Mayweather doesn't teach aggression like what Eddie needs. Its Arreola who would benefit immensely from FLoyd Sr. Sr. makes his charges run and hustle during training camp (something well all know Arreola needs) plus the subtle hand movements he teaches his fighters plus (and this is fuking important to Arreola) he makes you use head movement. If Arreola is ever going to be a titlist at the minimum or anything more, he will need head movement and about 30 less pounds. Otherwise, he will just be fun to watch until he eventually gets destroyed

say no to drugs
What did I say about being an asshole? I saw his fight against Gomez, Vitali was being stupid with his hands low then throwing an underneath jab. He gets himself open to right hand counters when he does that. It may work on unskilled fighters like Gomez and Peter, but not someone skilled like Chambers. He's better than you think, Chambers would of beaten Gomez too. I would favor Vitali over Chambers, but not by much, and I wouldn't rule out a possible victory either.
Vitali is not unbeatable, unlike his brother Wlad. Now I would favor Wlad over anyone right now.

They are scared and need to team up on him using comradery as a tool of leverage (power in numbers). They are shook from the east to the west thinking that Arreola just might be the best
i cant kevin johnson giving arreola trouble or any other top heavy. saw him fight bruce seldon in ac and even though he won by 5th round tko he just didnt impress me. hes so full of himself too.

chambers didnt get owned. he got cute and took some rounds off.
chambers needs to get someone in his corner that he'll listen to.
he started to do the same in the peters fight too.
arreola would do better to fight a plodding euro type rather than chambers.
He showed improvement, he had a higher output compared to the Povetkin fight (35-45 punches a round), not a whole lot, but an improvement. Even Chambers criticized himself after the loss saying he should of thrown more punches. I think Floyd Mayweather Sr. would be perfect for Chambers style.
