Tyson in the 80's was easily the best heavyweight EVER. 90's Tyson was an impostor.
I would take 80's tyson over any great heavyweight including Muhammed Ali.
if you want to see the difference in Tyson's fighting, just watch "Mike Tyson - Untold Story" ---> http://www.megavideo.com/?d=S1SZ54AB
You will see that the Bruno fight was when Tyson stopped slipping punches and just became a plodder.

it's kind of easy to call someone great when he looks good against bad opponents.
it has nothing to do with his opponents. its not that he couldn't slip punches, he wasn't even trying. it doesn't matter if he is in the ring with Spinks or Holyfield. The way Tyson was fighting and moving around the ring, it was virtually impossible to even land a clean punch on him. After Kevin Rooney got fired, Tyson didn't even try and slip punches. He would come straight in which made him an easy target especially for boxers who have a much longer reach than him.
Buster Douglas didn't do anything special. Tyson LET Douglas hit him. It's really as simple as that. Spinks, Holmes, Berbick are 10 times the fighter Douglas is but they had trouble landing a punch on Tyson yet Douglas was landing combination after combination on him. Tyson didn't even make an attempt at avoiding the shots. He just stood their and took them. 90's tyson was quite simply, an impostor.
