Are we adding in fighters before the CW division was started that weighed200 and under or just sticking with the CW?
Just the Cruisers since the division was invented.
Great vid though.
true, I forget how shallow the division is.
some very talented fighters have passed through it, but not too many people stuck around to be highly accomplished there.
Jirov's body attack would have been too much for Gomez, imo.
Yep, nobody ever sticks around. That's really a testament to Holyfield's greatness there because Carlos De Leon fought as a Cruiserweight for so many years. You almost feel like he should be #1 by default. Holy just made such a significant impact in such a short time.

how in the blazes is Juan Carlos Gomez one of the best Cruiserweights of all time when his best win is over Jorge Fernando Castro.
He never really beat anyone, but he did have several title defenses (yes over nobodies) and you can't deny that he was a very skilled Cruiserweight.
How many people could you really say are clearly greater than him besides Holy and De Leon? Maybe 2-3 guys, but going any further than that is selling him a bit short IMO.
It's too bad we never saw Jirov/Gomez. I think Jirov would have stopped him.
Holy curb stomps Haye; Mormeck would have been a war until JMM ran out gas and lost.
For a second there I actually thought you were talking about Holy getting into the ring with Juan Manuel Marquez
He held all the major wold titles at the same time (before the WBO belt was invented), so that means he has the distinction of being I think the first and only World Cruiserweight Champion. That along with his victories of great opponents during his stay there in only 17 fights pretty much seals it.
Holyfield's wins over Carlos DeLeon and Dwight Muhammad Qawi x2 pretty much automatically guarentee hes the number 1 Cruiserweight of all time. I mean, DeLeon himself is probably the #2 best Cruiserweight of all time, and Holyfield knocked out a near prime version of him.
throw in wins over Ossie Ocasio and Ricky Parkey, and Holyfield most likely wont ever be surpassed as the best Cruiserweight of all time, despite him only holding a Cruiserweight title for what, 2 years?
Evander is the greatest Cruiser ever.
De Leon
JC Gomez
Mormeck
Jirov
Toney
Cole
Camel
Haye
Some other good ones^ (no order). I feel like I have a glaring omission somewhere.
Holyfield won the WBC/WBA/IBF titles inside his first 17 fights and stayed undefeated while doing so.
He also successfully went up to the heavyweight division and won the championship. The same can't be said for Haye so far. :)
Time will tell!
And that! He came back well from that defeat IMO? Won a few titles as well.
