I just saw this on BoxRec. His name is Dominque Azeez. :lame:

Do matchups like this help the sport of boxing?
And how about Andre Dirrell, in a non-competitive televised matchup against Derek Findley? Somewhat better, but still a mismatch.
I have no idea... Warp just told me that is what happened and that they had to find a replacement.
Banks actually seemed like a right cunt on the contender to my eyes.
LOL yeah he seemed cocky and stuck up on that show, but as far as his personality, he didn't seem like the kind of person that would do anything that would put him in jail. He was a family man, he taugh himself how to box ect. He seemed decent.
Wow sorry to hear that. I hope you get 100%. Cancer is like the worst thing someone could get, and i wouldn't wish it on anyone.
How come David Banks went to jail? He seemed like a pretty good person when he was on the contender.

I didn't know he had cancer when I made the thread.
I went through chemotherapy in 2003 and again in 2005 and I've never been 100% since - somehow my stamina and energy is just not the same.

Andre's opponent is a replacement because David Banks went to jail. This opponent is terrible for a replacement.
David Banks, on the other hand, is a pretty big embarrassment to have as an opponent coming off wins over Hanshaw, Paschall and Oganov, which are all head and shoulders better than David Banks.

Its going to take a while for someone that has just gotten over cancer, to fight some good opponents. Anthony was even dropped in his first come back fight against a journeyman, so not only does he have to shake off all of that rust but he also has to see where his body is and what it can do at this point. I wish he would get back to original form though, when he first came out he was actually regarded as a better prospect than Andre because he won the gold medal in the olympics and is a harder puncher than his brother.
I still remember all the bullshit some American fans here were talking about Amir Khan only fighting tomato cans while developing. Dirrell is supposed to be a top prospect, but let's compare his resume with that of Khan's at the same point in their career:
Anthony Dirrell
Jose Medina: 14-12-0
Robert Kliewer: 9-6-2
Andy Mavros: 6-1-0
James Hopkins: 3-6-0
James North: 8-14-2
Billy Thompson: 8-5-0
James Morrow: 9-2-2
Juan Carlos Ramos: 4-4-1
Chris Grays: 6-8-0
Kevin Butts: 8-6-1
Gabriel Rivera: 4-0-0
Mike Walthier: 0-2-0
Larry Brothers: 5-13-2
Dewayne Warren: 0-0-0
Henry Dukes: 0-4-0
Collective Record of Fighters Fought: 84-83-10
hey Larry Brothers is a stud Super Middleweight... i'm jus kidding i actually worked with Larry at a Ford dealer as a technician on Diesel Trucks lol i can't believe dirrell fought larry

Because he's a massive underachiever.
Even if what I said wasn't the reality, your comparison is still absurd. You really think Amir Khan (an Olympic silver medalist who is big enough to sell PPVs) should be matched the same as an unknown, small time fighter? The only comparison that would show anything would be between Khan and Andre Ward or Andre Dirrell (Anthony's brother), America's two medalists from the 04 Olympics. Ward got gold and Dirrell bronze.
I have no idea whether or not statistically their resumes will validate you or not, but that is how you'd do the research. Use your brain.
I do try on occasions, but I'll thank you to not tell me how to do research again. Amir Khan was not selling PPVs fifteen fights into his career. Your point stands however that he is more marketable, although I think you do a disservice to Dirrell by calling him a small, unknown fighter. I heard he was an extremely talented fighter over a year ago. I really can't be bothered right now to do the calculations to compare the resumes of Ward or the younger Dirrell to Khan, but a quick look seems to support my claim, although not to the extent that Anthony Dirrell seemingly did.

Dude is barely a year back from having to undergo having chemo all the time for cancer. You are either god awful at looking things up or the least understanding dude in history. He is totally restarting his career from scratch.
Wish I'd seen this before my post! I wasn't aware. I still think my point about Khan stands though.

I thought American prospects didn't fight many bums in the development stage. The idea that Amir Khan was brought into the big league exclusively off the back of fighting bums is inaccurate and unfair when you compare American prospects like Dirrell to him. I suspect other top prospects won't compare favourably to Khan either.

Weak boxing commission that will pass any fight. I could see this permissable if the guy was never stopped. Atleast he would give you good work
Yes he's far from durable. In his 16 losses, the age 40 Azeez has been KOed 10 times.
