Does Juan Manuel Marquez need a break from all the fights he had so far?

he deserves a break more than anyone in boxing today. too bad he can't afford it.

Its now or never for Marquez. He's done enough to be considered a Legend in my opinion, but he's nearng the end of his rope. Gotta put the work in.

he could use a tune-up, the thing is, hes got no time. 35 and going.

Dude is going to end up punch drunk since he has been in tough fights lately. Diaz, Casamayor, Pacquiao, Barrera. He was hit cleanly in all those fights and took a bit of punishment to get those wins. I think he deserves an easy fight, what do you think? what for? if he takes an easy fight, the big fights will pass him by. jmm is like the girl on the side. she got to be available whenever.

i think he should take a easy 1st fight in the 140's but at the same time he is looking for a payday so its on him to decide :boxing:

yes that man needs a break!! he's been going balls to the wall for awhile and im surprised the wear and tear of each war hasnt had a severe effect on him yet.. especially at his age.. its going to catch up with him eventually, but Marquez being the Warrior he is probably doesnt care.. He'll rest when he's retired

I do think he should lay off until the last quarter of the year to fight again. I don't know that fighting an easier fight would be better than not fighting at all, until the Hatton/Pac winner. Knowing him he won't wanna fight a bum. I think he should take a long deserved rest until Sept-Dec. and then fight Hatton in Wembley, then make his last fight in Aztec Stadium with Pac in May of next year.

I see what your saying but I think he hasn't been hurt as much as people make it seem, he hasn't been knocked out or had any concussions or any surgery, he hasn't had any physical problems yet, so I think since he is healthy (no problems) he will try to go out fighting the best. I just hate how floyd fanatics say stuff like, if floyd comes out of retirement he might not be the same so if someone like marquez beat floyd that is the only reason marquez won... That is what floyd fanatics are saying but they ignore the fact that marquez has been in alot of wars lately with good fighters.

I wouldn't mind if he took an easy fight, but at his age I think he wants the biggest fights available ASAP while he still has it. Who would you consider an easy fight by the way?

I think he's fine. He took periods of time off before fighting again. After Barrera he took on Juarez in November. That was a decently long lay off. Then after he fought Pac in March he fought in September. He probably won't fight till late July or early august would be my guess.

Yes he does... I think he deserves to fight a couple of bums before takiing on a pacman or a mayweather again...

hes not getting any younger...needs to cement his legacy now his health should be concerned
