Not in there class yet he beat them both even though he also is not in his prime, the guy was 35 when he fought Jones, only 4 years younger, you act like Joe was 25, his hands are brittle now and hes not the same either and he still beat both of them your trying to judge prime by age thats not how you judge prime.you judge it off their performances. jones had been very faded for a few years before he even fought calzaghe, whereas calzaghes best performances were basically all in the lead-up to the hopkins and jones fight , yet you say he was so far past hes best at that time while i agree joe was not at hes absolut best when he fought either hopkins or jones, he was a whole lot closer than either of them. the 1st rounds of both of them fights show how the full fights would of went if either hopkins or jones were in their prime prime for prime joe is not in hopkins and especially not jones class

Calzaghe sucks he ducked bhop and roy jones for years and only beat Roy because roy didnt have it anymore and i still think hopkins took him to school rewatch the fight almost everything calzaghe throws is blocked or rolled with Hey guy, do you read the posts on here at all? Calzaghe didnt duck anyone. Even RJJ said he ducked Zaghe because he was gettin more money for lesser opponents!!!!!!!!!!! i dont think roy ever said that he ducked him, what he said was he didnt go out of hes way to make the fight happen because calzaghe was not known in the states

RJJ won the IBF Super Middleweight title against James Toney in a decision win back in 1994. 14 years ago(Roy Jones Jr. was 26) In 1995-1996 he defended that Super Middleweight title several times by TKOing his opponents after relinquishing the Super Middleweight title to move up to Light Heavyweight. JC won his WBO Super Middleweight title against Chris Eubank back in 1997 and defended it for a very long time. but in 1999(Joe Calzaghe. was 26) he was just winning via UD in Wales.

The Hopkins fight would be a toss up IMO. Hopkins has the brain to figure Calzaghe out(Going by their last fight) but wither he has the legs to implement that plan is another thing all together(Going by thier last fight). Calzaghe's workrate is superhuman. Close fight, shame the fight didn't happen in 2002 when both guys were at somewhat of their peaks. Jones in his prime was sick! His speed and power for someone of his weight class was unbelievable. Those are two attributes that any fighter would love to have. If lesser talented Byron Mitchell could drop Calzaghe, then I could see Jones taking this fight by decision, if not by a late knockout. This was a fight that should have happened years ago. *sigh*

I dont agree with that back then jones jr was basically un hittable the jones he fought now gets hit by anyone even sheika hit him a couple times. Jones speed and power were ****ing crazy knockin dudes with one hand behind his back. Calzaghes been dropped in his last 2 fights in the first round with guys who are very accurate but are declining now days in the power department. If this was prime for prime roy jones would have finished him off after knocking him down. Calzaghe bearly beat hopkins now and hopkins bearly threw any punches the hopkins that beat tito would have thrown way more against calzaghe than he did this time and i think hed either get a knock out or win 117- 111 Damn dude I try hard to read your posts but its hard as hell to stop watching those asses shake. I agree, styles make fights and Calzaghe would have thrown at least 500 more punches in a 12 round fight than either BHop or Jones, and with alot of power back then. Yeah but way more sloppy than them. And in their respective primes you couldnt beat either of them on work rate alone. In fact in this case I think it would be attempted work rate, as each of them would have stuffed a lot of his offensive attempts in their prime.

Prime for Prime I think Jones Jr. would have toyed with Calzaghe just about as badly as everyone else he fought in his prime. A Prime Hopkins was more aggressive, he would have used his jab to offset Calzaghe and would have beaten him pretty decisively. Hopkins lost that fight on workrate and being too defensive, neither was a problem for him ten years prior.
