This is the route to go!!!
Lets keep the momentum marquez!! Put a big name under your resume.. And u will get your big payday!! One more big name!!!
Take joan's 0 .... And you will HAVE your payday!! Guaranteee
:boxing:
This fight wouldn't be competitive at all, I see JMM dominating Guzman with relative ease. Valero-Guzman wouldn't sell very well, Joan will probably not risk getting KOd without a solid payday.
totally disagree with you man!!
:boxing:
its all good!! matter of oppinions!!
juan guzman is a bum, lolz this guy can't even touch valero.... nyahahhahahhahhaha
guzman. .will school valero with boths hands tied up.
Your crazy bro. Joan Guzman is a freakin boss. Who else can start doing the salsa dance in the ring and not get hit once? It would be a good fight jmm vs guzman but i would put money on guzman if that fight ever materialized.
HELL YEAH!!
i love juan manuel marquez!! but guzman have mad skills.!!

He's fighting Yuri Romanov for the vacant IBF title, which obviously will put him back in a pretty good position to set future fights.
Not sure if a date or venue has been set yet. Although I don't think anything has been signed so I'm sure if some crazy chance in hell marquez wanted to fight guzman (lol) guzman would quickly take that fight instead, but that's dreaming.
That would be epic, but i seriously doubt it.
It's good he's getting a title chance though.
yeah.. i know what u mean... and i totally agree with you.. .jmm.. have better money offers options..
i guess is just me.. that i really want to see this fight
wassup kid. .how u doing ?? :boxing:
Marquez has bigger fish to fry. Both Hatton and Manny want to fight him now.
nah I like Guzman he's got a lot of skills, if this fight did happen it'd be a chess match
but I just don't see it, the only way these two guys meet up is in a sparring session
Marquez wants to move up in weight and get a belt in a 4th weight class, and he wants a third fight with Pac
and
it's going to be tough for Guzman to get big name opponents because of the weigh in issue from last year
yeah.. i know what u mean... and i totally agree with you.. .jmm.. have better money offers options..

Joan Guzman would be a great sparring partner for JMM, if the fight with Mayweather happens
joan guzman aint no sparring partner kid.. in fact according to some previous post here it seems like jmm has been ducking guzman for quite some time around...
i dont know.... this fight is the perfect to crown the 135 king..
this fight wont happen. marquez is looking for a pay day. cuz he wants mayweather, which is no different then guzman based on style. just more pop on the punch. guzman will probably fight diaz or barrera/khan winner.
Sorry, my bad. Pacman and Marquez were #1, #2, Guzman was #3 and the WBO champion by the time Guzman faced Soto. If you can find the full rankings from 2007 by November that would be great for verification.
i don't know where to get the monthly rankings online.
i subscribe to ring that's why.
i have a cheat sheet. :) (at least if i have that month's issue around.)
He had the fight with Pacquiao in the bag at 135, freddie roach, bob arum and pacquiao ALL wanted Guzman. Then something changed after soto. Either bob arum didn't like guzman's style of fighting and didn't think it would be exciting (although that doesn't explain why they fought solis) or bob feared something about guzman. IMO he didn't like the risk/reward because lets face it, pacman has NEVER fought a slick boxer like guzman so there is a bit of a fear of the unknown....how would pacman do against a fighter like that?? Either way pacquiao cant really be faulted here because he was the star and was in the position to fight bigger names, etc. marquez on the other hand wasn't there yet and had no excuse to pass up on guzman when he had the shot.
just like valero had a pacquiao fight in the bag right? in the end what was valero? a guy whose name is brought up as a possible opponent when arum is negotiating for another fight.
david diaz had a belt at 135.
david diaz is a top rank fighter.
david diaz is mexican which means more fans and continues the mexican vs. pacquiao rivalry.
believe me , diaz had the fight in the bag more than joan guzman.
maybe after diaz if the oscar fight didn't happen.
but no one is gonna turn down $10-15 million to fight oscar to fight joan guzman. lol
How can you even make such a comparison when Guzman was ranked #1 and a title holder?? Crazy talk and you know it. Unify the damn belts and become the man to force yourself a fight with bigger opponents, but marquez went with the easy opponent. Marquez got lucky Bob Arum didn't want pacman fighting guzman either because if not, they would have fought in Canada and marquez would be left crying in a dark corner somewhere by himself sucking on his thumb curled up in the fetal position. :omfg:
he was ranked #1 AFTER pac-barrera-marquez all fought AND left 130 , natas!
what are you talking about?
barrera , marquez , pacquiao and morales were all ranked above guzman at 130!
first it was barrera and morales on top at 130 when guzman wasn't even ranked at 130 yet.
after pacquiao moved up to 130......it was barrera , morales and pacquiao ranked above guzman.
after morales retired and marquez moved up......it was barrera , marquez and pacquiao ranked above guzman.
those 4 guys all fought each other when they were ranked #1-3 in the division!
and you're gonna say they ducked the #4 guy?
that's like saying guzman ducked valero when valero was #1 at 130 when the only reason valero became #1 at 130 was because guzman left!
This is the route to go!!!

That could turn out to be ugly like the Derick Gainer track meet. JMM's best opponent choices are those willing to stand and trade because thats where his timing prowess shines. Guzman could give him problems like Chris John did, which is why he has no business calling out Floyd.
Well in that case the blame for every "duck" in the sport goes directly to the promoters.
I don't entirely see it that way.
Yes, sure promoters have a lot to do with it and they probably should receive the most of the blame (for example Calzaghe comes to mind), but ultimately the fighter can choose who they want to fight. JMM could have unified the belts and placed himself in a fantastic position if he beat guzman, rather than beating Rocky who everyone and their mama knew JMM would beat. I mean Rocky got beat by Soto and Soto was ranked #2 fighting the #1 guy Guzman. Rocky wasn't even in the picture!
im sure a guy that has been in some of the toughest situations in the ring and is chasing pacs nuts like crazy to actually beat his ass and not just for the paycheck isnt scared of joan guzman.
not to mention that golden boy promotions has much more say than the marquez's camp. when you pair fighters under your banner, its easier to make fights, and you come out with more money. the first opponent was under their banner. the second opponent was under their banner.
the fight was originally going to be on PPV so it even ads more to why they wanted to pair up 2 of their fighters. and when you think about marketability...Juan Manuel Marquez vs Rocky Juarez was going to bring in more money than Juan Manuel Marquez vs Joan Guzman, not just for GBP but for Marquez.
Name one! One fighter Pac faced who has Guzman's handspeed, accuracy, defense and slickness? Plus we all know Guzman's chin is Barrios and Soto
C'mon be serious now, Mr.Tua Man because we all know Pac never faced a fighter like Guzman and neither did JMM
so we got 2 HOFers who has fought almost every big name from 126-130 and they DUCKED a joan guzman?
remember , manny and jmm moved up to 135 in 2008.
guzman's biggest win for me was soto at the end of 2007.
just doesn't add up.
if he wanted a fight with those 2 he needed a lot more name and resume.
1-2 years later to now......he STILL doesn't have a name or resume.
