Casamayor vs Julio Diaz?

I thought Julio Diaz was going to fight Katsidis. Casamayor is clearly past his best but he was not doing that bad against Marquez. The fight was something between 5-5 and 7-3 for Marquez and Casa was winning the 11th before was knocked down. Julio Diaz is nothing special but I don't know if Casa still has enough left to beat him.

The report on ESPN.com said Richard Schaefer, CEO of Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions, is looking at San Antonio and Houston as possible host sites. Schaefer is attempting to put together a lightweight tournament to build a challenger for the winner of the Feb. 28 Juan Manuel Marquez-Juan Diaz championship fight in Houston, or perhaps a challenger for WBA, WBO and IBF titleholder Nate Campbell. Valero made news a year ago after Texas granted him a license to box after many other states would not because of a non-boxing head injury suffered years ago. But Fort Worth fight coordinator Lester Bedford said it now appears Austin is the favorite to land the card. One of the co-main event fights being discussed is Michael Katsidis against Austin's Jesus Chavez. “I don't think that would be a good fit for San Antonio,” Bedford said. “I'm not sure people there know who Edwin Valero is. Austin is a better fit.” Another fight being discussed is Jorge Barrios against San Antonio resident Carlos Hernandez. Bedford said he expects San Antonio to land a major card by spring or summer.

Hopefully another match could be added with David Diaz and one of one of the losers of Diaz/Marquez and Campbell/Funeka. I don't wanna see david diaz. I hope he never steps into the ring again

what happened to Joel Casamayor vs Vicente Escobedo? any body know? maybe they realized that was too dangerous for one of their prospects. great fight card! im ordering.

will they have 4 3 min rounds then the winner of each go on to another 4 3 min rounds and then 8 rounds for the final ?

Casamayor vs Diaz should be 12 rounds. Same with Katsidis Chavez. I wonder how much this thing is. Hopefully 25 or 30. ^^^ C'mon bro, this is GBP we are talking about. probably gonna be in the neighborhood of 40-45$$$$

it shocked me when I saw Valero's name in this LW tourney. I thought HBO would never have any part of a guy who cant fight in the US. Why havent they done it all this time with all the hype he has had? Now thats making me think that HBO would still do Margarito fights in Mexico He was cleared to fight in Texas as of last year I believe.

Casamayor is a bad ass and all, but he has been pretty clearly past is since he came back and fought Santa Cruz. He looked old in that fight, and against Katsidis and Marquez his legs seemed gone. The card looks good, but there are a lot of finished LWs that are gonna be overmatched at some point in the tournament.
