Too slow, what the **** you on about man?
The only reason he landed ANYTHING on Calzaghe is because he is still REALLY fast, not as quick as he was at his best, but still quicker than all other light-heavyweights atm.
There were points where he just wasn't plain quick enough to hit Joe. Joe dipped on him one time and smiled back at him for his effort. That really stood out for me.
hahaha..... it truly is "wtf" i remember the first time I saw him fight... i was like... wtf is this guy doing? this guys nuts... holy shit did you just see how fast that was
Exactly... its really all you can say  watchin his fights youre like wtf?!!?
Yeah and some of the binmen he fought went 12 rounds with him. The Bum called lou del Vel knocked down a prime Roy Jones in 1998. A worse version of of Hopkins than the one who fought Calzaghe won 4 of the last 8 rounds against Jones in 1993. Sure Jones looked like superman against the tomato cans he fought, any fight against a PRIME Calzaghe and PRIME Jones would have gone the distance.

I'm sittin here watching some of my Roy career set and man, it's just wow lol. It's hard to believe anybody could be this good.
Jones was the truth in his prime, the man was utterly sick. I would have liked to see him seek out a true challenge in the late '90s instead of his mis-mandatories. Still, I never thought I'd see him beat in my lifetime.
I watched Ali vs Frazier 3 last night ive seen it before, but one thing that stood out to me was the lack of mobility in Ali. That fight reminded me of Jones vs Calzaghe, because when you are fighting a Calzgahe or a Joe Frazier the only thing Calzgahe/ Frazier have on their mind, for dealing with fighters like Ali and Jones is.......... they wanna get you outta the centre of the ring and get you backed up on the ropes, where they can get something done, now a prime Ali had the legs to offset Frazier a little bit, but that version of Ali took major major punishment on the ropes, because he had no legs at that stage of his career. I think its the same kinda scenario with Jones vs Calzaghe fight.
well, Roy had his flaws like any other fighter. but very few fighters had the ability to take advantage of them in his prime. the only two off the top of my head are probebly Eric Harding and Montell Griffin 1 who gave him problems early on. ridiculously fast.
I think Michael Spinks would have beaten him.
calzaghe faught a shell or jones tho everyone knows that i think in his prime the fight would have been a lot lot closer instead of the one sided beating jones took which is a shame really as the fight would have a miles better win for wither man neither fighter gained anything from the fight really
Wft are you on about?
When did I ever say that Roy wasn't shot fighting Calzaghe?

KNOW wtf you're talking about before you simply repeat some shit you might of heard in another thread. Roys beaten 20+ previous or future champions.
HARDLYYYYYYYYYY what Joe has done.

Lou Del Valle was far from a bum.
is it possible that jones is the greatest lhw of all time?
He's top 5... I dont think he's #1... Roy known more for his moves through multiple weight classes.. rather then owning one division for an extended period.

Dont ever mention tomato cans when you wish to defend Joe Calzaghe...
In there Primes, Joe may have won 2 rounds against Roy or maybe gotten knocked out. Nobody in history has reflexes to deal with the speed of Roys punches. Joe would of been destroyed. Prime Roy is and was completely unbeatable. In his prime he fought the best (Hopkins, Toney) and made them look average and awful. He fought many undefeated fighters and completely destroyed them. There hasn't been a fighter in history that could deal with a prime Roy Jones Jr. Prime Bernard probably beats every 160lb fighter in history, but get dominated by a Prime Roy Jones.
Maaaan that video. Such a shame he fought on for as long as he has. He's been reduced to not even being able to really throw combos and too slow to hit the target in his last bout. Roy Jones. Too slow. :nonono:

Nunn might've been Jones' kryptonite. And he did have power, he just hardly sat on his punches. Eric Harding was the same way.
Nunn's style would pose problems for Jones the way Frankie Liles' style did in the amateurs; the way Lou Del Valle's style did and the way Antonio Tarver's style did.
I agree 100% with the bold part.
Yep, i think Southpaw's generally threw Jones off a little bit. Its like ive said before to beat a Southpaw you have to put pressure on them and that is why i believe guys like Jones and Mayweather looked less than spectacular against Southpaw's, because their style is not geared around putting pressure on their opponents, its the opposite.
Im with you there, allthough i think he has enough power to hurt Jones. I mean Nunn did hurt Juan Roldan too.
I think Nunn's slickness, speed and lefty stance would puzzle the hell outta Jones. Only problem i see is that Nunn did too much clowning in the ring sometimes, although i dont think he would do it against Jones.
The Nunn that beat Tate would deffo of troubled Jones imo.
