Are you blind???
Are you retarded?
You are showing me stats from a previous fight. Irrelevant, to the comment I made.
Ignoring the die hard Pac-Man/Cotto fan boys.
Do you think this would be a good match up?
It would be an epic war. One of those fights they you watch over and over and talk about down the road. As far as who wins, I cant see much of a way for Pac to win. He could, but I just see Cotto hurting him and stopping him late.
Ignoring the die hard Pac-Man/Cotto fan boys.
Do you think this would be a good match up?
it would be one of the better fights that can be made right now...
i think it would be a close fight that is winnable for both fighters...
it would be an exciting fight that would deliever.
And???
Cotto is 5'8 and weighs 159 fight night
Pacman is 5'6 and weighs 148 fight night
How are they the same size
what you don't understand? let me put it this way, my friend was 210 lbs, 5'10..an overweight kid, probably a welterweight if he slimmed down
Holyfield was 6'2, 208 lbs in his prime, who's bigger? my buddy or Holyfield?

Pacman at WW weighs 148.
nice good call
lol @ him being to strong for Pacquiao then, the best p4p fighter loses to a fighter his size who is coming off a knockout loss...
Cotto's about 5'7 Pac is about 5'6 1/2
Pacquiao is ripped, Cotto is usually smooth. Dont' see size being a huge difference even If Cotto weighs more, he has more body fat than Pacquiao.
Cotto's got good pop in his fists, Manny has a nice hard left hand. Pacquiao has a good chin (although untested at 147) Cotto has a suspect chin.
I dunno, speed kills and Pacquiao has tons of it.
Its hard to believe that anyone could possibly say that Pac would be able to win against Cotto. I like Pac and Cotto but this fight would be a terrible mistake for pacquiao to take on.
I think Cotto is one of the welterweights Manny can beat... Styles make fights and Pacquiao is quicker and Cotto's chin isn't the best in the world... I think Pacquiao got a shot with his speed.. Cotto couldn't even get away from heavy footed Margarito. Cotto has great timing though.. I think it would make for an interesting fight with the edge going to Cotto and a chance going to Pacquiao. Not to mention Cotto's stamina is questionable as well.
----------------------
I can only see this fight happening, if Cotto manages to become top 3 p4p and gain a huge following. Meaning unifying the belts.
21 February 2009 - per say attains WBO title belt after defeating Michael Jennings.
July 13 - Margarito suspension could be a blessing, if it turns out Andre Berto steps up as the replacement. A victory would warrant a WBC belt.
????? Guns for the WBA. For damn sure, many would be interested in a Mosley/Cotto rematch.
A series of victories would ensure, Cotto bounces back and attain a really good status in the boxing world. I know it sounds a bit fanatical, but not to unreasonable.
----------------
On the other hand looking at physical stats.
Cotto - 5ft. 7in . A wider built, with heavy hands. One of the few that can change orthodox to south paw. Questionable jaw though.
Pac-Man - 5*ft*6.5. Slimmer built, with fast hands. Awkward fighting style, susceptible to counters.
---------------
My only concern is that this seems to be Cotto’s favorable weight. While Pac-Man would need a few “easy” fights to get used to 147.
It would be a very good matchup, stylistically, they would make for a great fight, Cotto has not been in a dull fight, Pacquiao rarely is, would be a great fight. Cotto wins for me.
I'd love to see it. I think it would go back and forth, but Manny would be getting hit harder than he's ever been hit by a legit 147'er.
Manny's been in wars with guys at 130, but to exchange with Cotto might mean lights out gradually as the fight goes on.
I got Cotto by stoppage, but in a great fight.
