Apparently Hatton is not a 147 pounder when he loses, but he is a 147lbs when the contract is on the table. I dont think the 147lbs weight limit is that big of an issue, its just Hatton fought two fighters that were his kryptonite. Mayweather was obviously levels above him and Collazo was a good counter punching lefty.
It gets on my nerves when Hatton says shit like im not a 147lbs when he loses, but he keeps taking fights at that weight. I would not be suprised if he goes up there again if the money is right.
Hatton looked like a LMW against Malignaggi. Malignaggi actually looked like a true 140lbs.
All Hatton has said is that he feels uncomfortable at 147. He beat Collazo - it was close, and Hatton himself has said Collazo might have got the decision were it not for the early knock-down, but no, he didn't "arguably lose to Collazo", he beat him.
He went back to 147 because he had the chance to fight the #1 p4p, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Sure, there was money in it, a lot of money. But whether he was unhappy at 147 or not are you seriously claiming he should have turned down that fight?! Of course he f**king wouldn't, and you and your ilk would have been howling that he was ducking PBF to keep his unbeaten record if he had. And.. as has been said so often even you ought to get it, he hasn't fought at 147 since.
No im seriously claiming he keep his mouth shut when he looks bad or loses, because he has made excuses after all his high profile fights where he has looked bad.
I can find vids on Youtube if you guys are in denial about him constantly making excuses.
The man is full of shit, but most Brits are too moronic to see he speaks like a politician so he can rape you for PPV, because he is a " Mr nice guy!" GTFO.

A lot of people think he lost both fights and he made excuses as to why he looked terrible against Lazcano,Urango,Collazo,Mayweather. The guy just cant stop making excuses.
Since I have never heard any of these excuses myself and I was unaware of Hatton looking bad, more pressured as he took on good tough mexican fighters, then I can't agree or disagree so I will refer to his fight record...
Oh wait, hes only lost once and it was to the P4P king of the time.
No shame in that bud !!
I think you will find it should be Lost, singular.
So basically your argument is flawed as he has only lost once and its not as if he has had several losses where he has said the same excuse.

Hes only lost once ffs how can you say he keeps doing it ???????? Sound like a bitter antihatton fan to me
When i say he keeps! doing it i mean he went upto 147lbs to fight Collazo then came back down and made the excuse, im not a 147lbs blah blah. Then Hatton went back upto 147lbs and then when he lost he made the same excuse WHEN he lost.
Its pathetic. Hatton got beat by Mayweather and arguably lost to Collazo, yet instead of saying nothing and leaving it he decides to make the same bullshit excuse.
Which ever way you look at he was taking away from the performances of Collazo and Mayweather, which is bullshit.
After the Urango fight he made excuses saying he had a cold etc. Even after the Lazcano fight he was making excuses saying i had a slight chest infection,

You dont start saying im not a 147lbs WHEN you lose then keep taking fights there.
You cant have it both ways.
As the last guy said, that's just bullsh*t. Hatton has lost ONCE (to Mayweather) and hasn't fought at 147 since... he went straight back to 140. Where do you get this 'keeps taking fights' crap from?
Hatton would be one of the better fighters at 147 not the best but one of the best. Every fighter says shit to get a mega fight started your hardly going to get a mega fight at 147 if you say tbh i dont actually think im that good.

LOL
Very....they amuse me...
I bet if Hatton got in a car wreck in front of one of them and was pinned under the wreckage, they could lift it right up off of him...
You know...like those stories about possessed mothers saving their children....
mr.crust is the best "What you picking on me for wahaaa"
I mean, im not saying ricky is better at 147 than at 140,
But when pacquiao moves up from Minimumweight to 147 pounds, and hatton moves from 140-147, and says the weight makes a big difference in terms of why he didnt perform, you have to wonder a little.
the average size of a top 5 (on boxrec) at minimum weight is 5ft 2 1/2
the average size of a top 5 (on boxrec) at lightweight is 5ft 6 1/2
pacman is 5ft 6 with a 67 reach
so pacmans stature made him a beast a the lower weights ( like corrales was at 130 b4 he got drained)
but the average size at welterweight again courtesy of boxrec is 5 ft 7 1/2
and the only person at welterweight he has ever faced is oscar de la hoya (who started at 130 but was more natural at 154) so that holds as much weight has a water soaked paper bag
pac would get destroyed by any elite welterweight as would hatton but at 140 he can be at a comfort zone just as hatton is because he is head and shoulders above any1 else at the weight
I don't think so.
Say Collazo stays on his feet but just stumbles back from the punch. Hatton still probably takes that round and ends up winning a razor thin MD.
I would have scored it a draw if not for the knockdown.
That is assuming the rest of the fight was scored correctly.
Hatton was hit throughout with the cleaner punches some people might have given the rounds against him based on that.

You stupid ****. Clearly you have never boxed a day in your life if you think moving up weight classes doesn't affect you much. Sure Pac can do it but Pacs unique, Rickys still a good fighter at 147 but he's better at 140, what the **** is so hard to understand about that? Everyone can see it so Ricky isn't making excuses (Plus he's said he'll willing move upto 147 if the fights there)
Always makes me laugh when people say shit like 'Hatton would of lost if not for that KD' What aload of rubbish, Hatton would have beat Mayweather if he had landed with that big right in the 4th'
Collazo was CLEARLY off balance. Ironically Hatton would of lost if not for that KD.
I don't think so.

Hatton relies a lot on his physical strength at 140, he loses that advantage at 147 which is why he doesn't do well there.
Exactly. I think that would be the case with any of the top guys at 147. They are all very strong, skilled guys for the most part. Clottey, Collazo, Cotto, Margarito, Berto and Mosley are all very physically strong fighters. I can't imagine the hit/clinch/maul tactic would work well against any of them. We already saw what the weakest of those names did to him.
Hatton will continue to do well at 140 though. He is smart to stay in a division better suited for him and I don't think it should be held against him at all.
