pacman is a great fighter but a prime tszyu would Knock his ass out cold. he would break his style down, it would look something like the zab chickin dance fight.
Everyone can become over confident. That is not a lack of intelligence. Tsyzu simple became over confident and relied too much on his punching power. The post phillips Tsyzu was a much better fighter than the pre phillips Tszyu.
Becoming over confident and underestimating your opponent is just a stupid and silly thing to do, anyways I agree that he became a better fighter after the Phillips loss but I still don't view him as being that smart a fighter, not saying he wasn't a smart fighter because he was, just not that smart.
It's possible and if Tszyu was so smart, he wouldn't have slacked off in training and then lost to Phillips, a very smart technician, yes but I don't find him to be that smart.
As Roach said, the punch that can hit Pacquiao with regularity is the right hand, if a knockout comes from Tszyu, it'll be from a right hand IMO and that's his best punch.

I don't think its possible. Tszyu is one of if not THE smartest man to ever lace up a pair of gloves. The post Phillips Tszyu was an absolutely unstoppable animal. He was like a 140lb Wlad with a chin, defense, and combinations.
I don't think Tsyzu would make his right hand a factor. I think he would play it a lot like the Ben Tackie fight. Lots of pitter pat right hands then huge left hands out of nowhere with the occasional right hand mixed in.

Indeed, it's hard to say if Pacquiao could avoid Tszyu's right hand all night, if he can't, it would be a long night for him.

I just think Pacquiao, with his physical gifts and Roach would devise a gameplan to beat Tszyu by using his movement along with adequate pressure to make Tszyu uncomfortable, the 1-2-3 turn move that he's been using would be effective IMO and he's a really tough guy to time, he has an awkward rhythm, it took a master counterpuncher in JMM to have some success in timing him, is Tszyu's timing better than JMM's? That's debatable, but if he manages to time Pacquiao and land that right hand bomb, as I said, it's good night for Pacquiao, a Tszyu knockout is entirely possible but if it goes to the cards, I think it'd be a very close fight with Pacquiao perhaps getting the decision.

OK, I can definitely see Pac getting the decision if the fight goes to the cards. I don't think it will though. Zoo's bread and butter was counterpunching or timing that right hand and 12 rounds are a long time for a lefty who doesnt love defense or inside fighting too much to stay away from that punch.

I reckon KT would have heaps of problems with the speed and movement and Manny is all class and better than any KT opponent , Ive always thought KT was over rated and never fought anyone great that was near prime , he got a lot of hype from a very green Judah and Judah turned out to be chinney as a fighter anyway , Hec Lopez gave KT all he could handle and Phillips flogged him , Manny would be a big chance without a doubt .
Judah chinny?
He didnt look chinny against Cotto or Mayweather, and he took a lot of punishment in those fights.

You think Torre Campo could ko Tszyu?
Judah chinny but who else beat him like Tszyu did?
I am interested specifically in your opinion, which I respect.
I see this as a horrible style matchup for Pac. You see something I don't see in Pac's ability to not get hit. I am curious why you think so?
I have not seeing anything friom Pac which makes me think he would manage to stay out of trouble long enough.
I agree that he is very fast, but the only fights in which I have seen hints of a defensive mind have been the last two, and prime Zoo is a different beast than Diaz or this version of Oscar. Not to mention that straight right lands like a beauty on a southpaw.

but if pac beats the man that beat the man, then we can safetly say that pac has a good chance. because a lot of people in here think he has not got a chance.
Not really... not more than if he beat someone who never faced zoo...
Mayweather struggles with Castillo and demolishes in almost ridiculizing fashion Corrales------>Corrales beats Castillo in a fight of the century candidate.
Foreman destroys the man (Frazier) who beat (and floored) the man (Ali). Ali KOs Foreman in 9.
Styles make fights. end of the story. Zoo and Hatton fight nothing alike. nothing. The only thing they have in common is their stance, not even ther power hand! Not to mention that Zoo was 35 when he fought Hatton and we are talking about prime Zoo here here.
how long have you been watching/doing boxing to come up with this pearl?
I guess you should have used Corrales and Castillo performance against Maywether to pick in Corrales-Castillo.
Or Ali and Foreman performance against Frazier and Norton to pick in Foreman-Ali
and so on...
Unless pac comes in the hatton fight with the plan to fight him on the inside (which I am betting *anything* is not going to be his plan), there is nothing to be learned on how he would do against zoo. nothing.

lol everytime kostya is mentioned i post that video. it's my favorite kostya video on youtube.
as far as kostya being shot......he wasn't shot.
he was certainly old and a bit past prime but definitely not shot.
that version of kostya still beats everyone at 140 at the time.
if kostya was a bit younger would it make a difference? maybe but it doesn't take anything away from hatton. no one at 140 atm but hatton would have beat that kostya.
people bring up the layoff but they forget kostya ktfo sharmba (who was still top 3-4 at 140 at the time) only a few months before the hatton fight.
hatton-kostya was very competitive. it was a tough , grueling fight......kostya was not shot.
I watched the second mitchell fight and my only thought was "F*ck, Ricky is going to get BATTERED"
It will be interesting to see if opinion is just as against Hatton Vs Pacman, I for one will never give Ricky less than 25% chance to beat anyone at LWW, reincarnate Ali at 140 and i might drop it to 20%, SRR i'll just pretend it's not happening...
Awesome link Left hook, it really annoys me when people say Tzsyu was shot against Hatton, the guy was no more shot than Cotto was against Marg.
Anyone who watches the 2nd Mitchell fight can't ever say Tzsyu was shot, top boxer, top person, top career.

Pacman would win a UD
and how do you know this?
let's see how pac does at 140 first.
if he can take on guys at 140 consistently then we can make a better judgement.
as far as right now......
king kostya all the way in this one.
Has anyone seen the destruction that PAC's straight left has done from 106 to 147, I just thought I'd ask.
In a head to head matchup, PAC being the naturally smaller dude, I'd pick Tszyu.
PAC P4P against Tszyu, ooh wee, it's a very interesting matchup indeed. I'm leanin' towards PAC.
PAC's overall career vs Tszyu's overall career, It ain't even up for debate PAC takes it.
good points.
at 140 pac loses cause he's the smaller guy
p4p I also like pac in a tough fight
i agree pac's career > tszyu's

So what's your point?
Isnt this about a head to head matchup?
p4p different story of course, but zoo's style is still all wrong for pac.
You either need to focus on defense against zoo, or constantly rough him up. pac has volume of punches but he is not an up close type of fighter, and that's where you want to be if you want to fight zoo aggressively and not worry about that right hand.
