I've seen Sturm's name mentioned a few times as a viable candidate to face Pavlik but it appears he doesn't get the respect he should. I know part of the reason is because he needs to get his ass out of Europe and face some legitimate 160 pounders. I think Sturm is stuck "between a rock and a hard place" because 1...his style might not be exciting, 2...Not a money making draw, 3...most of the top middle weights avoid him like the plague.
Sturm is a solid fighter and would give most of the 168lb ,160 lbs and 154lb problems. Tell me why he doesn't he deserve a legitimate shot with some of the top contenders?
Because since fighting in DLH in America and losing a close (argueable I thought Sturm won) fight against DLH he refuses to fight anyone. He lost to a 40 something Castillejo by KO and refused 3.5 Millions Euros to fight the Abraham.
Because he won't take it. Abraham offered him 3.5 million for a fight and Sturm turned him down.
That's right. Or 2.5 million euros. And that happened after both fighters had trashtalked in the german media and the german public literally demanding the fight to happen. Then, by the looks of it, Sturm pulls out stating that he's going for Pavlik instead.
That didnt make him look good. :nonono::nonono::nonono:
