If Calzaghe was American and Black how would he be received

If Joe was a black American, he would have fought better fighters at an earlier stage of his career and depending on the results he would be praised or just respected. Its not that he a white european that robs him of respect over here, its that he hasn't made it a point to fight good or great fighters in their prime outside of Kessler and runs his mouth about being a champion forf so long when in reality he was just a protected titlist. I wish we could've seen the best of Calzaghe when he was younger fighting the better fighters, but he robbed us of that and ultimately robbed himself of the respect he thinks he has earned.

The American media people love their black fighters. If he was black and American, Joe Calzaghe's name would be known even by every grandmother who's never seen a fight!!! He would be more of a household name than Sugar Ray Leonard because he's never been defeated. He'd have been p4p #1 a long time ago!! People would respect him and he wouldn't receive any hate, and very little criticism. His resume would be spoken of in a more positive way (the way Mayweather's is) his opponents would be considered better fighters. Americans are afraid to say anything negative about a black fighter because in our culture of political correctness, it's okay to say something bad about a Hispanic or white person, but not about a black person. Mayweather, Hopkins, Winky, Tyson?

well, assuming he was pretty much exactly the same...same career, same style...dunno how that would have happened, but whatever... he would gain a lot of black American fans. he would lose a lot of British fans. and he would lose a few white American fans. thats all there is to it.
