Am I the only one that thinks having Mayweather in his corner will not be a good thing for Hatton coming into the Pacquiao fight?
I think the old Ricky who bullies and mugs his opponents and grabs and clinches his opponents to the ropes will be best to take on Manny's style and speed.
I think the overrated trainer will try to turn Ricky into boxing more and it could hurt him in the upcoming (hopefully) Pacquiao-Hatton match.
He might try to box more at first instead of being the Ricky we all know. He might give a few precious rounds away that way and might take more straight lefts than he would with his old style in the beginning.
i think Pacquiao stops Hatton around the 9th. Ricky tries to use what Floyd teaches him at the wrong time against the wrong opponent and by the time he realizes his mistake and turns back into the old ricky , manny had already done too much damage.
Thoughts?
that may be but i'm talking about just for the pac fight.
the old wrestling hatton might be best to fight pac rather than the improved hatton.
that's true but if that would be the way that he needs to beat pac, Floyd Sr will make him fight that way.
if you want to see the improvement floyd sr has brought to Hatton, just watch the Lazcano fight and then watch the Malignaggi fight. Floyd Sr is quite simply the best trainer in boxing today and he works to make best of the fighters natural skills rather than forcing the fighter into an unsuitable style. Hatton fought one of the best fights of his career against Malignaggi and if Malignaggi didn't hold on for dear life on a couple of occasions, Hatton would've been the first to legitimately KO Malignaggi.

Hatton has shown improvement with Mayweather and it's where it counts. His defense improved, his jab work improved and also his stamina improved. If those 3 things get better then you become a better fighter. You gotta give Ricky and Big Floyd some respect, theya re working towards making Ricky a better fighter and giving him a few more fights than he would have had if he stuck with Billy. If Hatton stayed with Billy (god bless him) RIcky would have retired middle of '09 but at this point I can see him with at least a half dozen more fights to his credit.

I agree, hatton needs to maul pac to win... but once hatton eats a few left-hands he will convert back to his mma ways.... you needn't worry cause pac will nail him w/ the killer-cross early and hatton will hold-n-hit to survive and eventually overpower pac.
Hatton looked a lil more skillful against Paulie, but he fought like himself for the most part imo. No matter what style he uses, Pac is dangerous to him cuz Pac has speed, pop, and boxing skills. I don't think his trainer would influence the outcome either way the fight went.

I think Hatton had alot more defense with Mayweather
Actually think you're right, The Hatton mauling style would be a perfect style to offset Pacman IMO and i think i heard Mayweather snr saying he would like to work 2 more fights with Hatton before they take a pacman fight.
you don't need 2 more fights to work on something if you're not planning to change something.
every trainer says he won't change much just work on some things.
they almost always do change or try to change them though.
look at steward with hamed. he fucked with that boy's style too much to his detriment. hamed's wildness was actually a strength.
you don't make a lorrie try to be like a sportster.

With 5 KO's in his entire career?
Yes because 5 kos means that his hands are slow.
HATTON.
Got that?
WAS.
Still with me?
FASTER.
I hope I haven't lost you.
THAN.
Still here?
MALIGNAGGI.
Got it?
Why do I fucking bother.
With Sr. or not, he still get hit..
I don't think Hatton can grab him easy.. Pacquiao always backpedal after he throw punches or someone throws at him.
Hatton is pretty quick though. Not as fast as Pac but fast enough. He was beating Malignaggi to the punch even though many considered Malig to have the fastest hands at 140 lbs.
If you take away the KDs from the 1st fight then you're probably right. But then again, JMM is pretty old these days and has probably slipped a little.
just a little.
jmm's style keeps him fresh in old age unlike barrera , morales and eventually pac.
i wouldn't be surprised if jmm is still fighting after pac is already shot.
fighting since '94-'95. 50 plus fights. a lot of wars. all the weight divisions.
pac is done in another year i think.
those 2 fights are so hard to judge.
i've tried to do it so many times and there are so many rounds that could go either way.
i think pac did better in the 2nd fight.

of course you wouldn't.
Your favourite fighter is david tua after all. :lol1:
what you talking about?
tua walks around at 205.
he's like holyfield. he puts on weight to fight heavyweights.
i don't mind the eating.
the drinking he should consider slowing down on.
he has the rest of his life to drown his liver.
of course you wouldn't.

Indeed, but I thought he had a better case for winning the 1st fight. Doesn't sound much like improvement to me ;-)

who's ever looked great against jmm?
