Would he be huge in the US? He's not that exciting of a fighter, but he's very likable and funny. Plus he's been dominating the division for the last few years.
I disagree. Yu my frend suffer from what I call the "Mike Tyson Hangover." You are so delusional to the boxing game that you lie to yourself in order to make yourself sound credible on this forum. Of course you would be all over Wlad if he was American with the track record he has. Just about everyone would. American boxing fans are, for the most part, arrogant. I was this way before I saw the light and appreciated the sport as a whole rather than a secluded object just here to the states. The only way I can help is to tell you to let go the bias, as I am not a doctor, just a diehard 'boxing fan.'
LOL you suffer from things to, but I don't care enough to diagnose it.

If he's American he should to be born and live in America..

I don't think wlad cares for popularity otherwise he would have been huge in America by now. All he needs to do is show up on talk shows more often and quit fighting in germany and have all his fights in Las Vegas or New York. That's all he needs to do to get America to love him.
If Wlad was American it still would not help the current state of the division

Let me clarify my comment on the "great white hope/hype." The rarity of such a fighter in the heavyweight division provides such an anomaly into the equation, it deserves such attention here, the good ol' USA. Hasn't happened in a long, long time.
well im american and could give 2 shits what the nationality of a fighter is...
As am I. I served 6 years active duty and still love the sport as a sport, regardless of who dominates/wins. This comment of mine obviously doesn't apply to us. The haters know who they are.
I dont see how race has anything to do with it. Since when has a white guy had problems being embraced by the American public? Let's not forget about the hype surrounding the great white hope as recently as when holmes fought cooney.
I may be new here, but I have had many names on this site before. If Wlad was American, he would be the next white hope/hype and folks would be nut hugging him everywhere like he was Tyson in his prime. Anyone who thinks otherwise suffers from what I call the "Mike Tyson Hangover." They just can't get over the fact that the best heavyweight isn't American anymore and hate on anyone who isn't an American heavyweight. News Flash people, the best fighters aren't American anymore. Boxing is a global sport, get over your arrogance/ignorance.

6'7 245 is huge in any country.
