luckily, i've already hung out with edison miranda a few times, played dominos with cotto, got twisted 2 or 3 times with camacho sr. And trained with juan laporte when i was 13. I also got to briefly meet holyfield and winky---
These are some of the fighters I'd love to meet and have beer and cigar with:
James Toney - The guy would have you in stiches laughing and would certainly have an encyclopedia of Boxing stories to tell you.
Harry Greb - A real 'badass' fighter who'd probably start bar-room brawling after his tenth pint.
Jake La Motta - A 'Real' character who'd still kick ass at his age. Would like to hear about his epic fights with Ray Robinson.
Mickey Walker - Another legend who'd be good company and he and Greb could have another bar-room rematch like they once did. Another favorite.
Jersey Joe Walcott - Boxing pioneer who's one of my all-time favorite fighters and I'd like to hear his take on being robbed against Joe Louis.
Jack Johnson - ATG Heavyweight Champion where good times and plenty of women would be in attendance.
Jack Dempsey - Another one of my all time faves and all I'd have to do is sit back and listen intently to one of the most colourful Champions in the history of sport. His life story is one of the most amazing in history and what he accomplished considering the circumstances is extraordinary.
Ike Williams - Would love to hear his take on his fight with Beau Jack and the look he gave the ref when beating up Jack indicating for him to stop the fight. Priceless!
Antonio Margarito - One of my favourite current active fighters whom I've been a fan of for some time and knew he was gonna stop Cotto. He seems like an exceptional person and a gracious champion.
Marvin Hagler - He is one of the most fiercest fighters to have ever fought in the squared circle but is an exceptional human being outside the ring. This is a rarity which makes Hagler a unique individual. Love to hear his take on Hearns 'War'. One of the most 'under-appreciated' fighters in Boxing History.
Carl Froch, so I can tell him what a joke of a fighter I think he is and his career of hand-picked opponents. I'll give him credit for the pascal win but he didn't even look impressive in that fight at all... He got hit a bunch of times cleanly and his hands were down the majority of the fight.
Wow, impressive you have a good chin!!! Amazing, but even Margarito isn't as dumb as Froch. Margarito has good chin but he atleast tries to block the shots coming at him. So, i found it quite amusing people compared Froch's chin to Margaritos after the fight. Yet, they should have realize Margarito atleast has a defense to some extent.
Erik "El Terrible" Morales - He's my idol i just loved watching him fight because u knew everytime he stepped into the ring he was gonna go all out and put on a show!
Antonio Margarito - He's been my favorite fighter snce Morales retired and i love his toughness n badass attitude he has in the ring. He is a straight up Terminator!
Manny Pacquiao - For many of the same reasons as Morales and because he's the best fighter of his era and would wanna shake his hand for just that reason!
Mike Tyson - I would like to be able to say i stood up to Mike Tyson face to face... haha j/p naw seriously he brought a lot of excitement to boxing during his time on top and would tell him that i have a lot of respect for what he did even if a lot of people nowadays think he's a joke...
mike tyson, oscar de la hoya, ricky hatton, arturo gatti, floyd mayweather, bernard hopkins, sugar shane, miguel cotto and antonio margarito to tell him he's not the best welterweight in the world
To be honest, there isn't a pro fighter I wouldn't pass up the chance to meet. They're all legends in my eyes.
Though James Butler is a piece of shit and I'd only meet him to spit in his eye.
To the original list I'd add Mick Ward and Arturo Gatti.
Johnny Tapia, Mick Gomez, Mick Katsidis, Jake La Motta, Kostya Tszyu, Ricky Hatton - hopefully all at once at the same bar. To be honest, there isn't a pro fighter I wouldn't pass up the chance to meet. They're all legends in my eyes.
Recent times, surprisingly Hopkins. His mind set seemed to really change in the past 8 months. His perseverance, training and tactics against Pavlik in prooving all the doubters wrong then staring them out, explaining some real depthy knowledge of styles. I'd ask him why his behaviour seemed to change post Calzaghe to the Pavlik fight, and on style match ups. There's not too many people with all those things to talk about, but after awhile of jail talk I'd have to pay my respects and do one.
Then a good chat with Joe Calzaghe, favourite fighter so natural really. Would ask him about not getting into the olympics, how he thinks he'd career may have then gone, plus on Johnson, and his hand troubles that have plagued him.
I'd find a round table chat with Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn pretty facninating, very interesting character Chris, and Nigel is very honest about whom would beat who in past present and future.
No james toney would be amazing to meet him but i think he would tell me to **** off or something pretty quick..
On the billy dib thing use mind if i do this :chairshot
That's rough man. I've lived in some nasty places too, being poor as dirt myself, but I doubt they were anywhere near as bad as Philly. Hope you're in a nice place these days.
Yeah things nowadays are much better. Part of me misses it though, I loved that City.
I miss being able to goto the Art Museum and run up the steps like "Rocky". :lol1:

Shane's the man, he just fucked up. And if that's the worst thing he's done in this sport, I think he's still lightyears beyond some of the scumballs in this sports history.
Tyson for sure if I could only pick one.
Kessler, Tszyu, Cotto and ODLH for a beer would be the shit!
Theres plenty more I would want to meet too.
Yeah, how could I forget Kessler. A real nice dude, from what I've seen of him.

i think DLH would prefer wine over beer.
That's a tough one. I'm completely anti-steroid, but I realize that steroids themselves don't make the athlete. Especially in boxing, I think Shane was taking them to recover faster, and make the most of his prime. Not that the excuse justifies his actions mind you.
I forgive him. Aside from that one mistake, he's never really done anything I didn't agree with. He's humble, respectful, never talks shit, and is an all around good guy. I think we're all entitled to a few mistakes in life.
