Wow. Nice digg. Its kinda funny people before saying Pacquiao has no match against any Lightweight, Jr Welterweight, Welterweight and Middleweight but now people picks Pacquiao to win in these weight division! lol This is how great Manny Pacquiao is... For Flyweight to Middleweight! An All time Great resume for me.
Let me see if Pacquiao can go up to Super Middleweight! Its Crazy right!? lol
MONSTER PACQUIAO~!
so?....even better for pac if it was at 147 coz he does'nt have to put on all that weight to affect his speed....
he is not putting on any new weight. he is just coming in at his walking weight
I cant see Pac defeating a bigger stronger good chin Marg..... This will be Pacs new JMM and after he loses he has to fight JMM again...!! And Marg V Floyd will have to happen!
I think Pac has no chance winning at 147lbs vs Margarito, but if the catch weight at 142, I bet Pacman will have a chance to defeat Margarito.
What about a 151 catchweight?
it would have happened if marg could make 147, i don't think we will see marg at 147 again win or lose
with this fight marg can have a big phillipino fan base if he beats pac
This will all depend on what the physical condition of each
fighter would be during fight night. I can only speculate on
Manny's. If Pac comes with the same stamina as he did in
his last two fights (Cotto and Clottey), the fight may not last
long for Margarito. As I've mentioned in another post, punches
you see coming are easier to take than the ones you don't see.
Although not all of Pac's punches have landed on Clottey's, there
were certainly some bombs that landed on there. They didn't
knock Clottey down because he sees them coming. Compare
that with Cotto who counter punches. The ones that knocked
him were unexpected. Margarito is way less cautious than both,
he's suicidal and likes to fight it out. Pac's unseen punches will
give trouble to Margarito's slow fighting pace. This will also depend
on how Margs would take those unseen punches. If he's able to
absorb them and not lose composure, that might spell doom for
the Pacman. Otherwise, it's an easy win for Pac.

Marg has spent most of his carrer at 147lbs

not only is pac fighting a huge margo, he's also fighting him at a new weightclass of jmw!.....godamn, if thats not BALLSY, i dont know what is!

Margarito is too slow for The Pacman. I coudn't image how frustrated will he be chasing and targeting Manny moving from side to side. Additionally, I also couldn't image how both eyes of his will look like(especially the left) after taking the Pacmans signature Left straight howitzers all night long right before the bell rings on the later rounds. We all know Margarito destroys his opponent by way of accumulation of punches in w/c I doubt he could do it by a moving Manny. Regardless lets get it on.

We still don't know how the thrashing he took from Cotto will effect him. That kind of punishment to the brain could ruin a fighter in 1 fight.
Let's be honest here, you have to have a brain first in order to sustain punishment to it. And I'm not entirely sure Tony has one, I love watching the guy fight but he's a bit of a barbarian is he not?
It's the only explanation I can come up with for his ungodly ability to laugh it up while he's being battered with powershots like the ones Cotto gave him.
Rather than respond to every single user who responded to my posts, allow me to address it all in one post.
I realize that in order for Margarito to hurt Manny he would first have to land on him, which would be no easy task for Tony due to the way he struggles against faster, slicker opponets.
But to think that throughout the entire 12 rounds, all 36 minutes of it, Margarito would land nothing, is ludacris. There would come a point in time where he would hit Manny with a savage shot, and I'm not entirely confident in Manny's ability to weather such a shot.
I also realize that Margarito's power lies not in his single punching power, but within the acumulation of punishment he doles out in the course of a fight. So I'm not expecting any one punch knockout on Tony's end either.
But I think at some point in the fight, Manny gets too confident in his own abilities and decides to scrap with Margarito, a guy who honestly should be at 160lbs, and I would pick him to win it by a late TKO.
We still don't know how the thrashing he took from Cotto will effect him. That kind of punishment to the brain could ruin a fighter in 1 fight.
Yeah, I'm not sure Tua or Ibeabuchi were ever the same after their fight either, and Margarito has been a pro for over 15 years, with an aggressive style that causes him to eat lots of leather.
Hold on. Pac by TKO? And we have votes for this already? I can see Pac making the much slower Margarito miss all night and countering with effective shots, maybe pulling out a decision. But stopping Tony? GTFOOH.
