He just won a 12 rounder on Jones-Calzaghe
he didn't look too good in that fight, i don't remember how i scored it but i remember 2 judges scored it too wide in his favor. but he was robbed against dawson.
am I mistaken but didn't he fight on a recent under card and win a close decision? I remember seeing him fght very recently....Lefty

Dmitriy is my good friend, too...VERY NICE kid...maybe the nicest in the world LOL, seriously... he is better than he gets credit for, I think...he is foucused on his faith VERY strongly and I assume, for better or worse, that has played a role in his slow progress as a pro.

lol wow man I cant picture Ray at 106 at all. He must have been young as hell. Hes a crazy bastard lol he trained me for a while but hes going to be m.i.a for a little while.
Yea, Ray was 106 in 1985 at Lowell.... I remember he was the first amateur I ever saw stop a guy with body shots...
I know many situations like this... 168 pounder Tim Littles once beat Michael Moorer at 156...Charlie White Lightning Brown, a 135 pounder as a pro, fought Michael Nunn three times when they were little kids. I first saw Ray Olivera when he was a 106 pounder... he ended up dropping a decision at 119 to Kevin Kelly. Kelly ended up a 126 pounder, Ray at 147. There's been many similar instances

Dawson seemed reasonably obvious...reasonably. There is no way in hell the other guy was Pavlik though. :lol1: Pavlik is stick thin now whereas the guy in that is actually quite solid for a young kid. Pavlik, at that age, would have been long and very lanky, not a little solid guy. The face looks nothing like him either.
Anyway, never would have guessed Salita. Just saw his last fight. Admittedly, he seems much more pale now, especially with his weird little Amish beard. Not a bad fighter, does everything well, nothing fantastic though. He'll struggle with the top guys or anyone that does one thing very well.
OK, boys... Ice is back and I will now reveal the answers...
Now, some of you guessed the guy on the right was Chad Dawson and....
You were correct!!! That is in fact Chad...and the kid he defeated by decision that time, a 3-2 split when they were aged 15...is....
...drum roll please......
I SAID "DRUM ROLL!!".....
OK, thanks.......
the kid is.....from New York.....
From BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.......
From the STARRET CITY GYM TO BE EXACT.....
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.....THE RUSSIAN RAPPER HIMSELF (I named him that when he was 15)...
Dmitriy "The Star Of David" Salita!!!!!!!!!
woooow.... never would have guess, the current weights is what would have never made me guess Dmitriy
yo Ice.. when you think hes gonna get a title shot... guys undefeated w/ a nice record... u think hes ready?
Damn, crazy to think that Chad was fighting at 132 then, now is the champ at 175, and that Salita has only moved up 8 pounds to JWW.
