Big IF but if he does beat Oscar this December , would he be considered a greater fighter than Mayweather?
I'm not talking about skills......which Floyd has in abundance......I'm talking about their greatness as far as resume and legacy and how history will judge them.
Some would argue Manny already has the better resume than Floyd. If Manny beats Oscar , who was one of Floyd's biggest wins , how would you judge them? What if Manny beats Hatton too?
Welcome back Tua. 95% Oscar wins? Huh? Many people will be surprised by the Pacman victory on December 6th. ODLH will be totally surprised by the Pacman fury. JAT

don't worry i posted pac tko 11 over oscar on every thread.
but realistically i give manny 5% chance of pulling this off.
i hope oscar overtrained to make weight though.
In my honest opinion, even if Manny goes out and beats DLH and Hatton, he still won't have a better resume than Mayweather.
Mayweather is just superb. Hes beaten everyone there is to beat. Hes faced all styles and slithered through different weight classes in the process. The guy is a modern great. His resume is outstanding. Just go and look at the names on it. De La Hoya, Hatton, Judah, Gatti, Corrales, Castillo - these are all well known fighters.
If pacman don't have the talent like Mayweather have why he got better resume than Mayweather? Speaking of talent theres a lot of perspective to determined who is better than the two... Their styles are diferent that's why we can't compare them.. One thing they are in common, They are both successful in their career... Money, Fame ect ect ect.
pac's resume is good, but all he's beaten are a bunch of mexicans. pac has never fought a truly slick boxer/puncher. floyd's beaten all styles.
if we're just talking resume, Manny's is already slightly better in my opinion
but greatness is determined by a multitude of factors and i believe Mayweather's pure talent and boxing brain puts him ahead of Pacman in terms of overall greatness, and i doubt Pacman will ever surpass him

Pacman's resume now is still better than Mayweathen even Pacman won't beat Oscar... Speaking of Hatton, I think pacman would KO hatton worst than Mayweather did...
on the whole DLH/Mayweather fight i thought DLH deserved the win. Floyd did absolutely nothing to deserve it. He ran for 12 rounds, landing one punch at a time, never over 10 punches a round. Whereas DLH pressed forward and was agressive all night, Mayweather had no answer for the DLH jab except retreat.. if you go back and watch that fight, there are several rounds that could be tossups, and in those rounds where it could go either way, then i think it should be scored in favor of the agressor, the person who worked harder..just like the last 3 rounds of DLH vs Trinidad were scored for Trinidad, Mayweather was in retreat all night.

The other 5% is if Oscar decides to throw the fight, to set up a super-duper-duper showdown between Mayweather and Pacquiao.
Actually Pac is almost 5'7..he's 5'6 1/2 to be exact. Cotto is 5'7, Mayweather is 5'8. Cotto is stockier than Pac in the upper body, but Pac is filling out, and his legs are much bigger. Pacquiao on average doesn't throw as many as Margerito, but if he wants to he can, in the david Diaz fight he threw what? 700+ punches in 9 rounds?
True Pac is filling out, unnaturally, though. Big difference.
95 % oscar wins this fight.
only thing is manny is a live dog.
against cotto and marg , manny would not be a live underdog.

Manny is barely 5´6" while Cotto is 5´8". Plus Cotto is much bigger than Pacquiao. Cotto is a big bone guy!!! More reach and more power than Pacquiao too. Margarito AVG 98.3 Punches per round in his last 4 fights while Manny AVG 71.7 not nearly close.

Manny Pacquiao already has a better resume than Floyd's.
Many people thought De La Hoya beat Mayweather - I scored it a draw.
If Pacquiao decisively defeats Oscar, then even Floyd's delusional nuthuggers will have to admit he is greater than Floyd.
And remember Floyd is a much bigger man than Manny - Floyd's reach and height are comparable to heavyweights like David Tua and Mike Tyson. Floyd started at 130 but Pacman started at 106.
Do you hate Mayweather that much where you let it influence your scoring? Floyd CLEARLY won that fight.
You dont think the natural featherweight chasing immorality status by fighting the top 2 welterweights that the previous p4p king retired to avoid risking his precious 0 against would be intriguing??

only if Pac KTFO dlh will he be greater than floyd.
I think Pac Man is already better than Mayweather.
I liked that article on the Main Page...it helped bring to light the resume of Pac. It's not as great as it may seem.
Seriously, could you imagine Pac beating any of these names at lightweight: Mosley, De La Hoya, Mayweather Jr; Corrales?
Chavez, Duran, Benny Leonard :)

Floyd won that fight. I think people liked that Oscar was aggresive and making the fight, but he wasn't landing points, unless you count hitting the gloves and arms...which I guess, maybe you could give it to him for that.
Floyd should have done more. I'm glad he retired after his new style of fighting cautious and boring.
