Some of you are throwing the TKO around as if Malignaggi was brutally demolished by Hatton. Hatton looked new and improved, but his performance against Paulie does not speak world dominance as some of you are indicating. That was not an impressive TKO. It was a UD that never went to the scorecards. Buddy stopped the fight and Paulie was not hurt. Cotto had Paulie hurt many more times and dominated him in a more impressive fashion. This is not to discredit Hatton's win, but some of you seem to forget what Cotto did to Paulie....if anything, that fight should have been stopped.

Paulie was close on the scorecards with Cotto, thats hardly a dominance. (just means Cotto was trying to hard to KO him while Hattons TKO just came).
Hatton's TKO was gifted to him by buddy.
You didnt watch the fight did you? Cotto destroyed Paulies life, after the Cotto fight he started fighting a lot more timidly.
He fought ngoudjo all on backfoot as well as Ndou

Safe to say Cotto ruined Paulie with that facial surgery/metal plate. Cotto fought a much more competitive Paulie. Hatton fought a 1 handed Paulie. Stop the bs. Hatton loses to Cotto 100 out of 100 x. At ANY weight.
exactly..................................

VEry excellent post.
yeah, but hatton dominated paulie, where paulie actually had moments in the cotto fight.
does that change the fact who you are picking on a fight between them?? who u got?

i agree with this...
i only had paulie winning two rounds against hatton...it was the first and (i THINK im not sure) the 6th round...
other than that it was all hatton...
it was pretty clear to me anyway who were winning what rounds...either paulie shined the whole round or hatton did...it wasnt a fight in which there was grey area or room for controversy.
However cotto did have paulie hurt and beat up a lot worse (he broke his cheek bone)...
hatton dominated in a different way...he was winning nearly all the rounds but wasnt punishing paulie to the point where he couldnt finish.
I think paulie could have easily finished the fight...its not like he was knocked down 3 times and in serious danger of permanent damage...
As I said yesterday; if i was mcgirt i would have allowed paulie to finish.
nah the paulie that fought cotto was greener
And he still gave Cotto a fight. He maybe won the 1st against Hatton, the rest of the fight he didn't do shit. I don't think that reflects as poorly on Cotto as it does on Paulie. He also looked terrified during the entrance and intro's. Mentally he wasn't even in the same state, let alone in the ring.
"Hatton is the Batman of 140.
He has tricks up his sleeve that JMM hasn't seen before and Hatton usually gets away with it.
He'd make it hard for JMM."

What part of that post is wrong?
JMM has never been in a wrestling match before. If that makes me pro-Hatton, then you need to try harder.
Your first post stinks of national bias. 'Stop fronting'
Which one's?

Agree. The Paulie that fought Hatton was nowhere near the same fighter that fought Cotto. Had that guy showed up it wouldn't have been surprising to see him at least tighten up the cards, if not lose via split. Hatton was on, Paulie was way way off.
Now everyone feel free to call me a n00b because this is my first post.

I didnt say that Hatton wasnt impressive... he was. And your right, he took Paulie out of his game plan and surprised Paulie by manifesting the atypical side of Hatton that we have not seen since the Kostya fight. That said, the Hatton TKO does not speak louder than Cotto's UD.

Yeah, I agree. Malignaggi may have won a couple more rounds against Cotto, but he also, self-admittedly, paid for it a bit more.

oh and look you're British so we can assume your bound to same thoughts about Hatton?
Go and find those 'thoughts'. I'm not even a fan of Hatton.
Thanks.
