why doesn't williams call out clottey ?????

That's an interesting question. Clottey has a title now and I've yet to hear his name mentioned in any fight. Judah lost and he's already back to getting big fights. This business is ridiculous sometimes. it is because clottey is being promoted by arum who has 2 other fighters in the same division. instead of making them all fight each other in a round robin, arum wants the guys that can draw the most money to be his cash cow, namely cotto.

Plain and simple I just think people would wrather not fight clottey after the first 6 rounds performance against margo.. then that hand injury happened. I think people stay away from clottey until he gets old.. which is a shame.. and I don't remember Pwill calling him out.. maybe they did.. but i don't remember myself.. Williams was pissed because Clottey's manager simply said Clottey will fight him, and Berto proclaimed himself the best Welterweight. Williams said something along the lines that he would knock Clottey back to Ghana :rofl:

Clottey has the traits of a journeyman, PERIOD. good chin, good defense, who doesnt pull the trigger and like good journeymen, when he lose a fight, he almost won. Clottey will one day be a perfect gatekeeper/stepping stone. and i like the guy, just doesnt have the championship stuff on offence. Ok, I agree but what was with Clottey cant even stay healthy man. He is kind of a journey as far as styles and mentality. Shoulders and rotator cuffs? If Clottey is just a solid fighter with a good chin then what the **** is Margarito and Williams? He is a better inside fighter and more crafty than both of them. I think his low work rate is his only liability and he becomes too defensive.

He actually did call out Clottey and Clottey wanted to do it but there was some conflict with HBO 'cause they didn't want to spend money on the fight.

i dont think anyone would like to face Clottey.. very high risk - low reward.... but now that he holds a belt things may have to change

Forrest only wants big money fights from now on and he said Williams doesn't draw that kind of money yet. Cintron didn't fight Williams due to the supposed hand injury he suffered against Feliciano. Clottey called him out not long ago, but I never heard Williams respond even though he said he'd fight anybody. I'd like to see this fight more than any other fights mentioned with Williams

He wont for the same reason nobody else will. Clottey is high risk and low reward. He might beat you, and even if you win nobody outside of Boxing knows who he is. Plus he doesnt bring much money to the table. Id still like to see the fight though.

Williams should stfu and actually MAKE ppl fight him! take on challengers and make himself mandatory.

Williams is calling out everyone, he should fight Clottey , would be a good match up. Williams should be trying to unify the titles and Margarito has one of those titles, which is why he is going after him...especially now that Margarito beat Cotto. It makes for a bigger fight. You would think Margarito would want to avenge his loss. I like Clottey, but people will probably say "Who cares, Margarito already beat him." So even though I think styles make the fight, people over-look this so we should just skip and get the two Champs back in there: Margarito vs. Wiliams. And then after that, when the belts are unified, we can get the top ranked fighters get their shot at the title. Personally, I say screw the belts and let everybody fight it out, but it's not like the old days when fighters fought 4-20+ times a year. In the end, it's still about Money so if Clottey brings the Gold, you fight. Plus, I thought Clottey was doing well against Margarito up until he hurt his hand so he deserves another shot at one of the titles; either Williams or a rematch with Margarito would be nice.

After Pwill gets his belt at 154, I'd love for him to come back down to 147 and face Clottey while Marg is wastin away.
