Yes I know the guy is "retired", but when you look at the lack of SUPER-stars in his weight range I dont blame him for not coming back.
Cotto: Had the best chance of luring Money-May out of retirement if he would have maintained his undefeated record and managed a win over Margarito. Cotto didnt pull through so we can X him off the list
Margarito: Hes a good fighter but he has absolutely no star power whatsoever. And its kind of hard to sell a non-star with 5 losses to the casual fan. Chances are slim to none.
Pac-Man: Oscar-Pacman is a joke and Mayweather-Pacman would be an even bigger joke. It will never happen.
Kelly Pavlik: I dont see Kelly getting down to 154 or Mayweather moving beyond 154. Not Likely at all.
Hatton & Oscar: Hes already beaten them, no one wants to see another snooze-fest with Oscar or a lopsided W over hatton.
Here's how I see it.
The winner of DLH/Pacman will fight Ricky Hatton (If Hatton Wins)
The winner of the Hatton fight will more than likely be more than enough to bring Floyd back.
At that point in time.
If Pacman ends up on top, his name will be so big by then that if him and Floyd fought that it would be one of the biggest fights ever. Unlike Floyd, Pacman is at a much bigger disadvantage against DLH and Hatton. But if he can pull off them two upsets then it definately would make for the biggest fight ever.
If Hatton ends up on top, Whether it's cuz he beat Pac or DLH, his star power would be so high at that point that Floyd couldnt ignore him. Then to top it off, if Floyd Sr stays Hatton's Trainer for this long than that alone should be enough to call Floyd out. (Although I think this is the least likely to happen)
If DLH ends up on top, which is a strong possibility of happening, Then his name will be HUGE. Sure it'll be because he's beating up little guys, but come on he's an old man. Floyd would make SOOO MUCH money with a DLH rematch at this point that I can't picture him saying no.
Not Saying others can't bring him back, but really the only other I can think of is Cotto.
Cotto- Gots to beat Margarito first, and I cant see that happening.
Williams- Why? really, why the hell would Floyd wanna fight Williams, Makes no sense.
Margarito- Unfortunately I dont think his star power is enough to bring floyd back. Even if he cleans up the division, Besides, this would be the easiest for Floyd to win.
This is how I see it. I personally want Pacman to be the one to bring Floyd back.
If Hatton beats Paulie well he's the only fight i could see him coming back for.
Hatton vs Mayweather at Wembley would be HUGE. 100,000+ would be in the stadium.
That's the biggest money fight for him.
PBFs last 3 ppvs
Mayweather-DLH 2.4 million
Mayweather-Hatton 1.5 million
Mayweather BigShow 1 million
I dont see PBF coming back unless he is certain he will continue his streak of million dollar match ups. Cotto/Margarito/Williams would have to do 500k on their own for PBF to even entertain the idea. Its pretty -holish, I know but thats what we have to deal with.
I thought Mayweather-Hatton did 800K

oh, just shut up. Mayweather may not have fought the best at 140 or 147lbs, but he did at two other weight classes below. and you know what, technically he did beat the best at 140lbs, even if he did it at another weight class.
I wish he would have fought Tsyzu, Cotto and Margarito too, but to not want him to come back and think he ducked all the challenging fights in boxing is a joke.
I just think that if Floyd comes back it will be against another softie for another big paycheck. That's Floyd's style. He will not come back to fight the likes of Cotto or Margarito because he's too concerned about his precious record. I believe this. This is why he should stay retired and leave us alone......please.
To be honest the biggest money fight out there for Mayweather would be Hatton part 2.
It would be a revenge scenario, and this time Hattons ready and has had Money Mays fathers teaching him, and It would prob do around the same numbers as before.
Mayweather win KO round 5.
I don't know if Mayweather should even come back. According to the poll Roy Jones, Jr. was clearly voted the best in his prime. Mayweather's propensity to dodge the big hitters has hurt his credibility.

only ways i see floyd comin out of retirement:
pac-man beats DLH and the ratings do extremely well, hed fight pac
if margarito beats mosley, then goes on to beat DLH and that does well ratings wise, id think he fight marg
thats about it, i dont see anyone else now that will make him enough money

Cotto vs. Mayweather would be a huge fight!
Mayweather vs. Pacquiao would also be huge, especially if Pacquiao beat Oscar.
Mayweather vs. Margarito would do pretty well, but mostly its such an intriuging matchup...theyre practically complete opposites, and theres been calls for this fight for a long time.
Id go for any of these. not big into rematches.
Hatton is a huge star especially in the UK. Floyd really hit the mainstream with that dancing with the stars and WWE crap. He was already doing decent numbers before the Delahoya fight, his fight with Ricky is the biggest fight under heavyweight ever not including DLH. He will come back and do big fights hopefully next year, you have to remember Mayweather is still undefeated.
Mayweather doesn't have the love from the fans like Hatton that's for sure.
Yeah, he was doing about as much as Cotto was before the Margarito fight. Against Margarito he did 100,000k+ more buys than anything Mayweather did before De La Hoya.
It's sad when everything comes down to names, or "star power". Fighters are supposed to fight the best in their division. End of story.
Floyd has plenty of fights out there if only he could push his massive ego to one side for a minute. Williams-Mayweather would be worth watching, as would a Marg fight.

dont think so,
Oscar
Hatton
Mayweather
is the way I see it. Oscar made Mayweather, Mayweather made Hatton, but because Hatton already a large fan base, the Mayweather fight possibly increased it so when speaking in terms of Global start power, I would go with Hatton, then Mayweather.

Lol, I like how Mayweather fooled his fans into thinking he can only fight big names. Unless De La Hoya or Mayweather fight them, it takes years upon years to become a big name. De La Hoya made Mayweather a big name when he fought him, until then Floyd's biggest pay per view sold 350,000.
No big names (You've just been punked), by Money May.
It would do more then that, Cotto vs Margarito did 475k..
Mayweather is the biggest star in boxing outside of Delahoya.
