People criticize Floyd so much, they don't even want to give him credit for beating Oscar. However, everyone is saying Oscar will brutally KO Manny because of the size difference, so if Manny wins, he will be universally cheered.
What these people don't realize is that the weight disparity between Oscar and Manny will be LESS than it was between Oscar and Floyd when they fought.
Oscar weighed in at 154 and Floyd at 150, yet at fight night Oscar was 167 and Floyd 148. This is a NINETEEN pound weight advantage for Oscar. Roach has said Manny will weigh in about 140 and weigh 145 on fight night. Having to weigh-in at 147 vs. Manny means Oscar will be, at most, 160 on fight night. This will be a FIFTEEN pound weight advantage for Oscar.
Manny weighed 144 for his fights at 130, so this show how big he really is because he needs to drain himself a lot to make weight. Floyd rarely put on more than 5 pounds on fight night, he even LOST 2 when he fought Oscar.
What I love about this is that by saying how Manny will get brutally KO'd, the haters are giving Floyd credit without realizing it, because the fact that everyone gave Floyd a much better chance than they are giving Manny shows that they do recognize Floyd has superior skills.
Oscar has a 19-pound advantage on Floyd (who is P4P #1) at the time, and if Floyd beats him he just beat an old man. Oscar has a 15-pound weight advantage on Manny (who is P4P #1), but he is gonna brutally KO him in 5 because of the size difference. Isn't this ironic?
people Criticize Floyd So Much, They Don't Even Want To Give Him Credit For Beating Oscar. However, Everyone Is Saying Oscar Will Brutally Ko Manny Because Of The Size Difference, So If Manny Wins, He Will Be Universally Cheered.

The Question Is Why This Fight With All The Advantages Go To Oscar Except
Maybe Stamina? There Are Too Many Good Fighters In Oscars Weight Class.
That Can't Be Argued With The Likes Of Cotto, margarito, mosely, winky, tito
And More. If Oscar Thinks This Win Is Going To Bring Him Glory He Better
Think Again. Fans Will Start To Ask Why Not Any Of The Above Mentioned

people are gonna hate on floyd no matter what he does.. he wont ever get the respect he has earned.. i dont know how a guy who makes a living beating old fighters and non elite fighters in europe, who faces his best opposition against a 43 year old and a 40 year old fighter past their primes, and he's regarded as a great fighter and a legend by some.. then u have a guy who has 6 belts in 5 weight divisions in a 9 year period beating the best and remaining undefeated yet alot of haters dont even consider him great..
I understand what you are saying, but he ask about size advantage not weight advantage. And overall Floyd is bigger than Pacman. So that means that Oscar size compare to Pac and Floyd is more of an advantage against Pac, Plus floyd had Fought at least at WW, when Pac have only fought once at Lightweight
I agree, the step up for Pacquiao is going to be a much bigger shock and his style is much less conducive to stepping up two weight classes. Size is definitely going to be a bigger issue in this fight than in Floyd v. Oscar. Oscar is a natural 154 Pac is a natural 135, so Pac better hope that meeting at 147 will leave Oscar weak and about as sharp as a butter knife.
dumb thread!
weight has nothing to do with size..
same weight it doesnt mean the same size as well..
example Cotto - Margarito.
:D
Who's bigger, Shawn Bradley or Shaquille O'Neal?
Mayorga just came in at 170 for the Shane Mosley fight at 154, I don't think 167 is unreasonably high.
Clottey being 170 for the Chico fight at 147 however...how the hell was that even possible?
Absolutely. Mayorga came in at 172 against Oscar.
I am not saying it is an impossible number in general, but it seems high for Oscar (who I believe was 164 for Mayorga)
where did you get thet 167 figure? That sounds like a lot

Pac's best weight is 135? And you determined that by his one fight there against a rather poor champ?
I don't mean best weight as in where he's best in comparison to his competition, I mean where his body is most comfortable. He regularly came in at 144-145 for 130 fights, I can't imagine that his body would be able to cope with that as he grew older.
u have 2 be kidding ...manny is a featherweight ...oscar is a middle weight floyd was a wleter weight
Manny is feather, Floyd lightw Oscar, welter is a bit more realistic. i would be more for 130, 140, 154
I think Floyds best weight was 135 and Pac 130. Pac hasnt being long enough at 135 to say thats his best weight!!!
Maybe so, but coming in at 145 on fight night for a 130 fight can't be healthy! Pac would have had to move up to 135 eventually. I also think that Floyd looked perfect at 140, whereas he was still a bit too lanky at 135.
Floyd was also 108 in the amateurs at the age when Pac turned pro, Pac happened to start at a much younger age then both guys hence why he's moved up so many weights. I would say that Floyd's best weight is 140, Pac's best weight is 135 (not a huge difference).

Oscar started at 130
Floyd started at 130
Pacquiao started at 108
Also Floyd is 5'8" and Many 5"6". So how Oscar had a bigger size advantage against Floyd?
floyd was 108 when he was 16
same as pac
not too mention pbf - DLH fight was at 154
Oscar started at 130
Floyd started at 130
Pacquiao started at 108

Where did you get the figures for their fight night weights? All I remember is Mayweather saying he weighed 148. I don't know if they were weighed unofficially on fight night, I know HBO didn't release them, nor did they do it for Cotto-Mosley and PBF-Hatton.
