Roy Jones Needs To Retire I'm a Roy Jones Jr. fan but he sold me, his fans, and the fight as if he was back to his old self. He promoted a music video did 24/7 on HBO that showed him preparing with all his supporters. Roy Jones is a shot fighter that was shot by Tarver and damaged by Glen Johnson. His weight loss from Heavyweight to Light-Heavyweight was done foolishly by starving himself instead of working it off in the ring. He has paid a price that has killed his CONFIDENCE which in turn has created a SELF DOUBT within himself. Roy knows that he is DAMAGE GOODS as a fighter, but has used his name to keep himself afloat the boxing scene with hopes of getting everyone to believe that he is the Roy Jones of old. Roy Jones supporters that are close to him (Coach Merk, Family, Friends, and Overall Big Roy) need to tell him that he is not the SAME FIGHTER AND IS EMBARASSING HIMSELF AND THE SPORT at this stage of his career despite the strain that could come to their personal relationships. I know I will get feedback on this, but true Roy Jones fans are thinking what I'm saying. Much Respect due !!!!!

God knows why. He enjoys losing in embarrassing fashion with a bloody eye to go along with it... Honestly, roy should retire but I guess he feels if he retires with the defeat by Calzaghe his legacy is some how effected, when it's not.

I agree, he should stay away from Tarver, Johnson, or Hopkins. Someone like Michalczewski or possibly Erdei, then retire, preferably just retire. Michalczewski could be an interesting fight, he's pretty much done as well, there's still some curiosity about that fight.

Roy should retire. But we can't make him, though I wish we could. It would be better for him and us.

maybe Im alone here, but Id kind of like to see Roy fight a young fighter...as a sort of 'pass the torch' kind of fight. I mean, if Roy is planning on trying to rematch Johnson for motivation, then getting knocked out must be motivating to him. Its not like hes gotten better since then. I would much rather him face someone like Dawson, Tavoris Cloud, or even Diaconu. Hes still semi-young enough to give a decent showing against these guys. but it probebly wouldnt happen, because boxers are selfish a lot of the time.

Terrible news. Roy is done. He needs to accept it ASAP before he gets hurt.

I rewatched that Joe and Jones fight the first half was close had jones done a lil more work in rounds 2,5,6 he couldve easily had those rounds... the second half was a total blow out though....
