i have a hard time respecting calzaghe because of his choices in opponents, he plays it safe trying to protect his 0 but then wants to be recognized as a p4p and atg. i think hes an excellent fighter but he's taken so few risks, if he looses tonight (which i dont think he will) it will serve him right. he could've taken pavlik . . . on paper a riskier opponent, he would've spanked him and gotten a ton praise, instead he choose jones. if joe wins big deal everyone will say jones was shot and its not the great accomplishment it would've been 10+ years ago. its like rjj says himself, if i win thats the big accomplishment . . . not if joe wins.

Some people on this forum don't give Calzaghe credit at all, I know how good Calzaghe is. And I know how good roy is, and I know that if roy did pull the upset that he really earned it. Some people on this forum picking against Calzaghe says he is crap, those people will never have my respect... I'm a fan of Calzaghes work-rate, it's amazing and that is what causes his opponents to **** up. Imagine a guy who doesn't stop throwing coming right at you. They can make front of the way he throws those punches, but his work-rate can't be made front of since those same slaps have his opponents going backwards toward the ropes. When Calzaghe was a supermiddle weight, he was throwing more punches then a welter-weight. Not all of them landing of course, but that is amazing stamina right there.

I'd have to give him his props, even tho I'll be bitter as **** about Roy losin.
