with the jones jr. loss, i have to say that nothing changes. my list is in tact. if hopkins beats someone crazy like dawson or joe in a rematch in wales, he may be on the verge of taking over #1 just based on his longevity and whats he accomplished in his whole career.... then again, roy jones had considerable amateur accomplishments too, including multiple national titles, 250 amateur fights, and a silver medal that should have been a gold!
jones
toney
B-hop
calzaghe
eubank
benn
DM
collins
ottke
mclellan didn't have enough time to prove himself, and ottke has to be last because he needed the judges help to win most of his fights
I would go
1. Hopkins
2. Jones - sorry, Roy, you've been ousted in the last 3 years big time
3. Toney
4. Calzaghe
5. Tarver
6. Eubank
7. Benn
8. DM
9. Collins
10. McClellan
11. Ottke
Hard to rank Ottke ahead of any of these guys
I thought you would have rated Calzaghe lower than that tbh. My list is probably the exact same as yours with Roy and Bernard switched.

Rate These Fighters In Order

4. Joe Calzaghe
5. Gerald Mclellan
6. Chris Eubank
7. Dariusz
8. Antonio Tarver
9. Nigel Benn
10. Ottke
11. Steve Collins
Nobody else seems to remember that McClellan beat only one good fighter in his entire overrated career. His record doesn't even begin to compare to Michalczewski's.
Definitely, as I said earlier, he could have been up there had he not gotten injured but what he accomplished was nowhere near what the other fighters on that list accomplished.
I forgot about them. :lol1:
Michalczewski above Collins, Ottke above McClellan.

I can't be bothered thinking about this too much but I would put them somewhat like this:
Jones
Hopkins
Toney/Calzaghe (I can't decide between Calzaghe and Toney here, but I'm going on Calzaghe beating Jones, otherwise it would definitely be Toney. I give Toney a slight edge overall on accomplishments but of course he had those falls, which throw him a bit. Toney is still probably greater all 'round though)
Eubank
Michalczweski
Tarver
Benn
Ottke
Collins
McClellan
1. jones
2. toney
3. benn
4. hopkins
5. calzaghe
i don't care enough to rank the rest however tarver is last.
LOL at Benn being ahead of Hopkins, that nuts.
Jones, Hopkins and Toney are the top three.
1. jones
2. toney
3. benn
4. hopkins
5. calzaghe

How is Benn above Hopkins, Calzaghe, Eubanks, Tarver, Michalczewski etc? He was a good exciting fighter, but, well, not really that good. If this were about "How do you rate these fighters by excitement?", then he would be up where you put him, but on skill and accomplishment? Just curious? :fing02:
if you go to espn and check out the roy interview, you will see that even roy agrees that james toney is the greatest fighter that he has or will fight. he repeated it to clarify that he felt toney was superior to calzaghe in his prime...
No, he only said it to make himself look good because he gave him such a whoopin.
And to the idiot that said Roy lost to Montell Griffin, THAT'S the stupidest comment I've ever seen. Montell Griffin sucked and he beat Toney. Period. Calzaghe, prime or no prime, would NEVER lose to someone of that caliber.
It's really pathetic how all Americans put Toney over Calzaghe.

I agree that a prime Toney would put a working on Calzaghe, and the Montell Griffin comment was just stupid. Roy Jones lost to Griffin yet he has accomplished more than Calzaghe can hope to
Joe "The Welsh Dragon" Calzaghe is greater than James "Belly's Out" Toney.
Joe would have gotten his lights put out by a prime Toney.
No one who loses to Montell Griffin is better than Calzaghe.
This statement is to f^ckin stupid for a real response.
