What boxer in the history of boxing could take body shots really good?

That was the first name that came to me. He took heavy body punishment from guys like Norton and Chuvalo too. In a recent interview, Norton said hitting Ali to the body or on the arms was like hitting a brick wall. He said it would hurt and tire out the one doing the punching.

Micky Ward, Gatti pounded on his body to no effect. Muhammad Ali, let George Chuvalo and George Foreman pound on his ribs with impunity. Taunted them all the way. Lennox Lewis, it seemed unfair because he was so much bigger than his opponents and the shots had no effect. Chris Byrd, McCline pounded and pounded and nothing happened. Leonard Dorin, just kidding.

It's impossible to get away from Ali. In his 60's prime his game was all about hitting and not getting hit and he did that better than any other. And then 70's Ali was not that hard to hit really but he could take any kind of punch so well and used that tactic of getting hit in fights and did it so well.

I disagree with Mayweather, he cried like a baby in both Castillo fights when ever Castillo went to the body. i disagree it took it like a champ in the 1st fight and in the 2nd fight castillo barerly landed anything at all

Muhammad Ali and James Toney stand out among two of the best I've seen at taking body shots and coming back strong.

Tyson, Armstrong, Jones, Marciano, Hopkins, Mayweather, Ibeabuchi and Robinson are others that comes to mind. I'm not sure if Ive ever seen them hurt to the body. I disagree with Mayweather, he cried like a baby in both Castillo fights when ever Castillo went to the body.

That doesn't surprise me, Frazier really worked his body over in their first and third fights.
