The fans know Andrade won. He is a true warrior right down to the bone.
He finished that last round like a wild man. he wanted blood, he got it, then the ref mopped it up and denied it to him.
Bute was up at about 6 seconds and steady at about 9, so I think it wasn't as controversial as everybody is saying. However, he was practically out on his feet before the knockdown, and I've seen many fights stopped for that reason...
So, although Farhood was making it out to be much worse than it actually was because of his bias, there is reason for a rematch.
I was disappointed in the way Bute fought in the last round. He fought brilliantly for 11 rounds, but I could see it coming after a minute into the 12th because Bute fell away from his gameplan and started exchanging punches in close with Andrade, who was landing some good left hooks.
But I think Bute was too tired in the 12th to continue to move about the ring as quickly as he had before. I noticed in the 11th round he was becoming fatigued, his punches were becoming less sharp and effective. I've seen his past three fights, and he didn't gas in the late rounds.
stfu he was not even steady in the postfight interview.
hmmmmm on second thought, Im kind of doubting my 'no' vote...Bute WAS up before 10, with or without shit ref...but he was totally gone. I mean, he was in BAD shape. had that fight gone 15, theres no doubt he would have been easily TKOed, and there would be no controversy at all.
honestly, its kind of iffy. Im going to change my vote and say yes...because Bute was in no shape to continue, even if he got up legitimately before 10.
but a rematch would be the best thing, no matter what.
good ol' canadians....cant even acknowledge bute was KO'ed....
hey watch yourself. I'm Canadian and I damn well know a robbery when I see it. My boy Andrade was robbed.
He was out of it. Even after the fight was over he wobbled to his corner after the fight. And the ref didn't ask Bute to walk forward to check how hurt he was or wasn't and had he done this Bute would have wobbled and the fight would have been waved.
A rematch is defenitely needed and as mentioned make this fight a NC. That ref was a shitty ref and was clearly on Butes payroll.
I don't think this fight was fixed, but i think the ref was bought, or just one ignorant mf.
The ref protected Bute and gave him time throughout the fight whenever Andrade gained momentum.
Home Cookin can sometimes leave a real sour taste in your mouth when it does not include food. Andrade is the champion in my eyes.
absolutely not!
Bute beat the count without Andrade's warnings. He got up in less then ten seconds. No need for a rematch as 11.75 rounds where Andrade being outclassed.
Hats off to both fighters, hell of a fight.

What bothered me the most was that ref was doing everything he could to interfere with Andrade in the last round when he had Bute on the run. He was deliberately getting between the two for any reason he could find.
They make an effort to get neutral judges, so why the hell do they allow a hometown referee?

FTR, I thought Bute beat the count if the referee counted w/o forcing Andrade to the corner, BUT, the ref said he wouldn't have beaten the count. So... I voted yes.
